I just started building my cessna 140. The rear spar has two different tapers on it, and I am not sure which is top and which is bottom. The spar on the plans is at the top of the wing plan, so can I assume that the top is the top edge of the spar, or is this up side down on the plans? Does what I said make sense?? lol

I am looking at the plans right now and the profile of my assembled wing tip. I think your interpretation is correct - taper toward the top of the plans should go toward the top of wing. This makes sense because of the flatter profile of the bottom side of the wing. With that said - seems like I actually have them upside down!! At the end of the day, I don't think it is going to make much of the difference. Plenty of clearance between top of ribs 4 and 5, and the top of the tip of the spar, so covering won't be affected. I would have never known the difference if you didn't point this out.

Actually - scratch what I said in the previous post... maybe reversing them was the correct thing to do (so flatter tapper is on the top, opposite to what the plans show). We no longer have our full scale 140, but pics on the internet suggest plans might be incorrect!

I like your angle brackets for holding the ribs straight. I'm jealous I didn't think of it first!

The plans called for sig's Morresy Bravo wing joiners. Decided to use some pipe I had kicking around. Made up laminated ply blocks and drilled holes through them. Eventually, the pipe will have some dowel inserted in the end and the wing bolts will run down from the top, through the pipe, to fasten the wing on with.

Next, onto the lower fuse half. I added some stringers to strengthen the firewall to fuse up, as well as make sheeting easier. Landing gear plates installed too.

Sheeting complete. Tail assembly on. Doors cut out. Next will be the center section, where the wing attaches.
