Has it been two weeks already?!! Never the less, the rear seat is about complete,I'll probably want to trim the bottom flap a little though. But here it is. And VJ, notice the placement! Did I get it right this time?

Went to a swap meet today and someone had 3 CW 1/4 Cub kits for $190.  I didmn't have that kind of cash with me, but $65 a kit sure is a deal.

My 33% Cub and the DRI are all charged up. I will be checking the wind forecast and hopefully I will get some flying in around 6:00 today. I need to run a couple tanks of gas thru the DRI and I will start working on that shortly. I am hoping my buddy can make it out to shoot some video.

I just got back from the International Auto Show held at the Javits Center in NYC, and I took some photos of the plane/car by Terrafugia that we've all been hearing about. I can tell you it was quite impressive.

No Maiden yet, had engine issues and bad winds. The engine issues have been resolved and I am hoping for good weather on Sunday. I will be at the Toledo Model Expo on Saturday.

Here are some photos of how the cowl fits. Everything is pretty much done with the exception of the window frame and the hinging of the ailerons. The prop is a Vess 17x6, and everything under the cowl fits well with plenty of room to spare...

Thanks Anthony.  I think I'm getting the hang of upholstry... somewhat anyway.

VJ, that looks really clean!  I'm using (or at least going to be... some time) a Xoar 17x6.  You'll have to let me know how yours does since we're using the same power plant.  Also, how do you think the cooling will be?  Robert had to open his cowl up a bit more to get enough cooling.  I am probably going to glass in a "port" to scoop up the air over the head.  As it sets right now the intake at the bottom of the cowl will pass under the spark plug and do nothing for cooling.  Let me know what ya'll think!

Where did you get that fuel port/tank port?

David, take a look at VJ's second photo. You can see his head fin's directly in front of the opening's. If I'm not mistaken he's running the 20cc. I went with the 26cc which is an inch taller putting mine below the vent opening's. Good work there VJ. And can you confirm on your engine size?

Ah, I see Robert.  Those are a bit lower than scale but I see how they line up with the cylinder head.  I guess this would be good enough to cool?  Got to remember, I'm a newby when it comes to gassers.

Your right Robert, I am running the 20cc engine. I think I won't have to add any baffles as Robert said the air flow should be traveling over the clinder head. I will bemonitoring this closely with my non contact infra-red thermometer when the time comes.

Hey Robert any suggestions for floats? I don't know if there are any out there that would hook-up to the Robarts landing gear? If I need to add bracing/mounts for the rear I should do it now.

VJ, there are several float mfg's available, Sig, BUSA, and Hanger-9 to name a few. None are attachable to the existing gear. All will require a mount block further to the rear than the standard gear mount's. If entertaining the idea of float's I would get them before covering and add the mount's. Then they could be easily interchangeable.

I decided to try something new for the gas tank. I just bought the 10 oz. RotoFlow gas tank. http://www.jlproducts.net/
It has a brass rotary fuel pickup which is suppost to supply better fuel flow. I'll let you know if it works... Plane is disassembled and ready for final sanding.Rats , I hate sanding...

OK, just shoot me now and put me out of my misery. All day sanding and all I got done was the fuse! I did also cut in the hinges on the window as well. Started with 220 gritand then went to 400 for the final pass. It does look and feel good. A ton of work.....
