Something extra colors
Just can't figure out a color or trim scheme for it. Have a full roll black, red, chrome, very light yellow. about 1/4 roll bright blue. Any pics of planes using some of the colors, or ideas on schemes.

RE: Something extra colors
Here is mine, its almost done. Just need to finish canopy, and radio install and a little more trim on the covering. I have an OS 70 fs on the front and a Carbon fiber landing gear.

Here's mine. It's pretty much right off the box using pearl green, pearl white, and pearl black. I did add the checkerboard pattern under the leading edge of each wing, and on the rudder. Other than that, it isn't very different. I really didn't go all out because it was my first covering job. I am still learning....

Note: Chrome is under red and yellow and about 3/8" bigger
Also, red and yellow are edged with black tape

I've had two SE. The first I covered like the box. The second one I did a 3D Flag as suggested elsewhere here on RCU.

RE: Something extra colors
For everyone that has multiple colours on the plane. Do you just iron on the covering over the other colours, or do you have to cut the pattern out then only overlap a little for the multiple colours ?
I guess what I'm asking is: Can you iron covering on top of covering ? Will it stay in place ? Can you do it with both monokote and ultracote ? (ie monokote on monokote and ultracote on ultracote)
Thanks

You don't want to iron a large piece of covering over another piece of covering. Easiest way to do it, and the way I did my 4* is to cout out the trim piece, spray windex on the back and place the piece in the location you want it. With the widex you came move it around until you get it just right. Then take a credit card, or something simular and squeegie out the excess liquid. Let dry over night and then take a trim iron or trim solvent to seal the edges.

Connery hit it right on the head. The windex method is the best way to put one piece of covering over the other (monokote or ultracoat, works for both). you can do a search here on RCU and find several threads explaining how to use windex to apply covering.

The windex method works well with Monokote over either Monokote or Ultracote. Ultracote will not stick well with the windex method, I think it's something different about the adhesive. However, I did mine with Ultracote over ultracote and just ironed it on with a iron set at medium low. If you keep the iron moving and go from one edge to the other and push the air out as you go there really aren't much bubbles. Ultracote will bubble badly if you use higher temps though. I did use a trim iron set on high just on the edges to seal them down after the covering was on.
