IC, great website. That is my favorite shot of the ME109, like a leopard lurking.......waiting to pounce. [8D]

A few more.

All these pics were taken with a borrowed camera. My wife and I bought a camera recently, just haven't had the birds to the field since.

You built two Balsa USA SE5's? Hmmm, sounds like a good idea.......boy is my wife going to be pissed. Now all I need is another Fokker DVIII, Fokker DVII, Fokker Eindecker, Sopwith Pup......and two each of all the others. I actually did think of building two more Fokker DVIII's from the plans. I wanted a pair of them in the lozenge and one in the Bumble Bee stripes like the one I wrecked last summer

LOL! Unfortunately, only one of them (#14, bluenose) is mine. The other belongs to a buddy who really helped finance the project. I bought my kit (on sale) and the G-38, he paid for everything else in exchange for building his. I have $600 invested in mine, he has $1500 invested in the pair!

Prop Nut
You have an ASP 80 in your SE5A now ?... How did the CG work out.. I am planning on a Magnum .91 which is about the same weight I would imagine... Do I need to invest in some lead ?...[8D]

Just a little bit, and that might be because of the damage I did to the tail last summer. I balanced it as per the plans, flies great.

Somewhere on this or other threads on other forums, you guys talked about aileron servos. How many did you all use and if not four, where did you put them. I'm thinking only two in the lower wing.

From what I have read most guys are using two in the lower wing ... Then connecting the lower aileron to the upper with linkage if so desired...

I put two in the lower, with 2-56 rod connecting the lower to the upper.

I didnt feel (IMHO) that four were warrented. I have found, after a year of really torqing that thing around, that two work just fine. I wanted to save the weight, save myself from having a servo wire up a cabane, and save myself the cost of two extra servo's.

Do four ailerons work better then the four ?.. Better enough to run the likage from the bottom one to the top one ?.

Yes, the more surface an airplane has to steer with the quicker responce it will have. I point to 3D planes as an example. Very responsive and very large movable surfaces. You dont really need all four working but you get really good control in manouvers if you do. Besides, it looks really cool

What were you trying to say here Iron Cross? Prop, How big (Torque) servos did you use. I like the idea of reducing cost, weight and wiring with using two, also.

I didn't think it fair, only thanking you, Prop Nut. Iron Cross also gave his opinion. However, maybe you are a multiple personality and you are both Prop Nut and Iron Cross? Does this mean you can fly two airplanes at once? Can you dog fight with yourself? Carry on conversations with yourself? Have you been exposed to too much Polyester Resin?
