Hi eightball. Welcome to the incredibly rewarding world of modeling! The SIG Kadet Mk II was my first R/C kit, too. So you should turn this thread into a build thread and post any questions you have along the way. There's lots of help around here and don't worry about what you think might be a "dumb" question. It's better to do it right than guess and goof up.

If you think you will be building more planes after this one - and I really hope you do, this hobby needs more modelers - I highly recommend you invest in a balsa building board like this one:

It may be the best $20 you ever spend. Also get a good assortment of sandpaper, some single-edged razor blades and #11 X-acto blades. Rcpilet covered most everything. Needle-nose pliers and a set of 1/16" through 1/4" drill bits will get used a lot, and a set of hex wrenches, too.

Hello to all. I have been flying for years. I love it, it is a true passion of mine. I started flying in the 8th grade with a Zagi 400 and I got the bug. I started out in nitro with a small .15 size 3ch ARF. I kept moving up in engine sizes and I built a .15 size kit sport plane that was a blast to build. I joined the Navy after high school and after I got in I didnt have tons of time to build or fly being on the ship. I am now on shore duty and I want to build a good first/second kit and I have dreams of moving up to giant scale wirbirds someday. Got any ideas of what would be a few good kits to get my building skills up to par? Any advice would be great. Thanks for listening. Take care, Jon
