Hi Moto. Nice clear pics. are you going to use the rear original spar hole and put a dowel into it to use as a locating peg to stop the wing spinning round while you bolt it up?

Bob, I"ll probably use both front and rear with dowels and incorporate something there to bolt the wings on tight. I haven"t thought about it enough yet. I will come up with something. I did get to the left wing tonight also. It is framed up to the point of the right wing. I"m going to take a break on it for a day or two.

Waiting and hoping the economy will turn and go the other direction so I can buy some more planes . Big Warbird is next on the list.

Well, A little more time today. Built the ailerons as mentioned one rib longer than the plans. The angle on the leading edge was not to my liking, as their would not be enough throw on the aileron if built to the plan. I changed the angle a bit. You can"t see it in the pics, but once I get the hinges in I"ll take some more pics to show the diff.

Moto-x,
I would like to offer a suggestion on servo positioning since you made the aileron larger.
I'm suggesting that you move the servo one bay closer to the fuselage.
The reason for this is because you have added considerably more surface area to that end of the aileron.
Keep the control rod close to the outboard end of the new servo bay.
You will note that this is about half the width of the newly added length.
This will afford you an even balance on each side of the aileron.
It could possibly save you flutter.
Just a suggestion.

Another thought comes to mind....Put a servo in each wing. Less slop and you will have the ability to add differential should it be needed.

Sebo, If you look closer at the pics, you will see that I have moved the horn mount in one rib closer to the fuse. There are plywood blocks glued in and I have the holes drilled for the horns. The servos will be in each wing mounted as close to the trailing edge as I can get to keep the rods short.

Sorry. I didn't notice them. Any way, you did what I suggested without my intervention. Cool!

It never hurts to give advise, It only hurts to not use it if it is a better way. Thanks for keeping me on my toes though.

I finally finished up the wing tips and sheeting. Those are not easy to get the same for both wings. I did a little mock up of all the peices put together but I still have a ways to go. Here are a few pics. Have you ever noticed that when building something, you put peices together ,seems like forever and then one day its { look what I have done}.

Moto-X, your doing a great job building this Bud Nosen kit. I built a Nosen Citabria back in the early 1980s and was impressed with Mr. Nosen's kits way back in the mid 1970s.

Sorry for the incorrect spelling Mode one. As you can see,its not my best subject. I would change it just for you but I"m not sure how to. I know what you mean about reading something that bothers me so I usually just don"t read it. Tell me how to correct it and I will try.

this means more to me, then to most
......

Hint. I agree with you on editing but sometimes we miss stuff...Cordially, Ron

I wasn't thinking I'm perfect and you are absolutly correct! I can mess up the English langauge as well as anyone. When I make a glaring error, I would hope someone would point it out to me. Now, if you'll excuse me I need to go work on my Grate Plains Splortster.

Hey Tony. Looks good. If that were mine I think Id clamp that twin on there before I put in any servo trays or such and get a ball park on the balance. That tail doesnt look that long to me and Im just wondering If you might have to put servos in the tail to get it to balance

Good luck with the build, I removed most of the references to the miss-spelling of Mr. Nosen's name, because if you can't correct it, it just looks like I'm being a jerk! Have fun!!

Thanks Tom. I have already set it up for rear mounted servos so I hope it all comes to balance.

Na, I don"t think your a jerk. Maybe a little anal but we all are about something or another. I"m glad your tickled pink though over a build verses arf. I have my share of them due to the fact I"m a working stiff and don"t always have the time to build. Those who build sure do have alot more pride in a model though.

Per Moto-X "I"m a working stiff and don"t always have the time to build". Thanks for the complement! Yes, us older guys truly are amazing! Back before ARFs we older guys had to work at our jobs, raise a family, coach little league, take care of the "Honey Do list", go to Rotary Meetings, R/C Club meetings, mow grass, weed the garden etc... Still we managed to find time to build, don't know how we did it, to be honest, I guess it's because us older folks truly are amazing!
