1 st low wing

Another vote here for a 4 Star 60. I'm currently flying my 2nd one(rekitted the 1st one). With a larger rudder and clipped wings, it's a plane that I can't imagine not having in the squadron around here. A fun kit to build and they just fly so nicely.

Dam, I havent been on for awhile and this place turned into a bunch of comedians over a typo, thats funny. I didnt figure it out till I went back and saw what I wrote.

LOL, just having a little fun with it . My wife got me a Laptop and my writing has really gone down hill. The keys on the Laptop are to small for my big, fat fingers.

The SIG Four Star build is very easy. Takes a little bit of time, but there are no difficult construction issues.

I built a new wing and installed flaps. It loops very tight and lands slower with less float.

The SIG Four Star is easy to repair with large slab sides. I flipped the switch for airbrake and it rolled into the trees, oophs. Lat time I reprogram at the field with 1/2 hour of daylight left.

I see your issue, the demographic of where you live is going to be costly to ship a USA built kit to you in england. You could try what I'm doing for someone over the pond, find a plane like the 4* series, and have another RCU person in the USA get it and ship it out for you. I'm sending a box over there that weighs around 45#'s and has 2 kit's, 2 radios, and a bunch of stuff in it, if he were to have that shipped by the vendor it would have costed him 400 USD. It costed only 150 usd for the mamoth box to be shipped, and I marked it gift to avoid VAT, just a suggestion. So your kit should only run 40 bucks to ship from the USA. It's a option, but risky and have to really trust the other person on RCU to do this.
For me, I would highly recommend the 4* series, in a 60 size, much more forgiving in that size, for a GP plane, I would recommend the super sportster, for goldberg, get a chipmunk kit, handles excellent and flies at a crawl if needed.

But No!
You are from the Green and Pleasant Land.
I suppose an Acro-Wot would be just too mundane?
"Traditional" foam wing build. Challenging radio and tank installation due to tight space. Good performance on a BB .40. Fits in a saloon car with the wings on.Sought after at club auctions. Tough when glass covered!

My 2 cents... Contender is a great flyer, never had a 4* but I hear lots of good things. I have a Kaos .40 and it flies like it is on rails and lands very sweet! fun to fly but not an aerobatic airplane, however it will do a wicked snaproll!!! I am going to throw one more suggestion at you... Tower Hobbies Uproar .40. It is easy to build and it is pretty forgiving with the fat wing on it and very inexpensive too. You could also build a Tiger .60 from Goldberg, it is a great flyer also. the Super Sportster is also an wesome airplane and looks great.

My question is are you still flying with only your right stick? I mean are you managing the throttle, capable of paying attention to throttle, stick placement of throttle and how much or less needed for what your doing in the air? Do you find yourself pulling your left thumb from the stick and leaving it in a single position? People starting out tend to ignor the left stick, leaving it wide open. If this is NOT you, then definately go for an ultrasport or a kougar or king kobra. Things tend to happen really fast with these planes and you need to be on the sticks at all times. If you need more oops time then a slower low wing like a 4 star would be better suited.
Don't sell yourself short though. If your managing throttle well, the Ultrasport in my opinion is a better plane to progress with. kougars and king kobra are good precision planes too.
