Ashley,
well done! Congratulations on your fine build and finishing of your trainer. You will find flying a model airplane a real thrill!
You also have my son, 8, beat since he has been very busy building Lego wonders but has somehow stayed out of the basement too much. We are going to have to change that this year!
Give your dad a big hug and tell him other dad's here congratulate him too!
You should be flying very soon...
David.

Hi Ashley,
This is very cool! It looks like you and your brother are doing a great job on your airplane. I think you're going to have a lot of fun with it!

Very nice build. I like the colors. The purple is just going to stand out in the air. What is the engine?Looks like a Super Tigre GS-40.

I think I got my boy started a little early...he just turned three. I think he should be able to handle this 89" Decathlon. Ashley, welcome to RC. It is very important that we pass on the knowledge of building and flying planes. It warms my heart to see young people participating in building projects. Take it from someone who knows; you'll never get the same satisfaction from an ARF that you get from building your own plane and watching it take off, fly, and, hopefully, land successfully. It is one of the best ways to see hard work, long hours of sanding, and attention to detail pay off.

Fantastic job kiddo! This is what any hobby is about, doing something that captures the mind, you can learn and have fun too. I see this and it gives me hope that the future of model airplanes will not be limited to just ARF's, building is a great way to teach the core of how it works and how to make something that you can call yours.

Great job there Ashley and I am very sure it will give you both many happy times flying your beautiful creation. As a dad I can relate to the amount of pleasure that your dad must have gotten while doing this project with you, and it gives me much hope that the art of model building and the desire to is very much alive and well even, though the hobby is now being swamped with so many RTF models.
Nothing gives a greater all around feeling of accomplishment than flying something that you helped build, and from all appearances you did a fantastic job. Best of luck when the maiden flight time comes around.

Howdy Ashley, you are a luck gal to have a Dad who is also wanting to see you follow his Hobby. Building and or flying can be a life long friend that will enrich both of your lives, you'rs and your Dad's. Wished we could see more of this in the hobby. PS: It is OK to stick you tongue out while working. Helps to think!
Thats a nice looking bird, keep us posted on how she flies. Oh yea, I like the A on the tail too.
Thank you for the post. When I saw the A after I put it on, I thought it was really neat and I loved it. My dad and I are going flying soon, hopefully my airplane will work and I will not crash it. That won't be good if I crash!

Miss Ashley,
Let me add my 2 cents worth of welcome, to RCU and to the hobby. I'm an Ol' Timer (63) and I started out with plastic kits and moved into U-Control when I was 12 or so. I built several planes over the years and then Life Got In the Way. I've only gotten into RC since my stroke and I can't fly... yet. I certainly admire you (and your Daddy) for getting into such a marvelous hobby. There's SO MUCH you can learn, in the work involved and the flying. This is an excellent "field" to get into and I'm very happy to see someone so young here.
Congrats!
