Thanks Skylark. I really am curious as to how well the stock gear has worked for other people with the SIG kit and if they modified it or not. I plan to spend some more time with it this evening after my commute home in this monster snow storm. The problem I see with adding a brace leg to the wire gear is that it will be 90 degrees to the leg section that mounts to the wing and there won't be anyway to thread both legs up through the bottom of the wheel pant and skirt the way mine was put together. I'm thinking of making a bolt on leg section that will mount to the blocks on the wings and use cable clamp u-bolts to bolt to the gear.
Again, others experience with the stock gear would be welcome. I also realized last night that the windshield lower mounting frame is crooked and sweeps in close to the cockpit opening on one side and far away from it on the other. I'll have to be very careful removing it as it's been blended into the covering around the cockpit. Along with that the upper flying wire fuselage brackets have been drilled a couple of times and there isn't much left of them. Another project for another day....if I get home! Jaybird |

I just got done with my snow Vinnie, it is really heavy and the chute got clogged a bunch of times. I guess we can consider our flying season (without skis) over for a while.

It's the White one w/blue and yellow trim. Started life in 1941 as a ST-M was restored with a Ranger engine in place of the Kinner. I do not know any more of the history than that. |

Sorry Guys still can't post any photos. WishRCU would fix this problem.
I'm going to try to get the fuse in primer today or by tomorrow. I have some Klass Kote primer left over from my Cub so I will put it to good use. |

A bit of delay and disappointment this AM. Loaded the Ryan into my truck and went off to work to get the fuse sprayed with primer only to find out that whenI opened the catalyst for the primer it had congealed and was unusable. Ahh s#$% I believewere my my exact words. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...ngry_smile.gif So back home we went and I placed another order into Klass Kote for some fresh primer and color for the Ryan. Of course I have many photos to show as soon as I am able to post them....It's been one of those days for me.
