I have a 9CH and not sure about the plane version but should be the same.

Any way. I have my D/R set at about 50-60% and the exp at -40%, but it boils down to what feels good to you and is comfortable. I like it soft around the center of the stick so I don't over compensate.

As far as turning them on and off you should be able to assign them to whatever switch you want. At the bottom of the D/R EXP screen there is a SW with a letter beside it. That is the switch it is assigned to but you can change it.

I have all mine assigned to switch A down is on up is off.

It should be pretty well explained in the manual but if you have any more questions let me know.

See ya,

I'm using a 9ch as well, just not sure was what settings to use on the dr/exp.......or just to turn it off as a couple of times I have accidently had the switch flipped and the servo that controls forward and back swash movements doesnt work. Sort of worried about hitting it during flight and causing a crash.

Like I said I have mine set to switch A and it should be very hard to hit that switch accidentally.

And you should still have control with them on just reduced to your set percentages.

You should also be able to select "null" at some point on the screen, but I would have to go look at mine to be sure.

You can also set it to a particular switch, and then set both switch positions to the same value, like switch up is 100% and switch down is 100%. Then it wouldn't really matter if you hit the switch..

yeah Dave ..... I finally figured out thats what I had done, set it to 0s one side and left to the default on the other, thats why it was turning off on me.........
