Even better question: I just stripped one of the screws to get off the plastic plate behind the bumper. How in the world am I gonna get that off?

I take it your talking about the bulkhead screw...there are four of them...ya got to take the bumper off and then ya got those screws staring at ya! Well, you can try a larger size torque to see if it will bite...if not, don't keep stripping it more. There are screw extractors out there that can work...they are made to release stripped screws and such. If that doesn't work and ya seem to not be able to get it out at all...here's what ya got to do...you will have to remove the whole bulkhead assembly by removing the four screws at the bottom of the bulkhead (underside of the truck, either front or rear..whichever side ya stripped the screw in...and then remove the four screws at the top of the truck where the top chassis support is...once this is done, you can slip the whole bulkhead out with the diff...from there, you can either try to get the screw out or just dremel it out and buy a new bulkhead which is I think a 8.00 part!
On the diff fluid...if your cleaning the diff, use motor/chassis cleaner and clean evrything well...than to refill..fill the one half to the top and then put 'er back together! I have 30,000 in front and rear!

Check you allen spanners that came with the truck. One of them should be a very snug fit and not strip. If you still have no joy tap the screw round with a hammer and punch. I have done this a few times with LST screw.
I used WD40 to clean out the grease. As for how much to put in, I followed the instruction on filling savage diffs after spider mod. This said basically fill to just above the cross bars.

Buy a compressor, it will just blast the grease straight out, then you can clean it with a tissue and Isopropanol alcohol, they will be spotless (This is my way of doing it). I think you just fill the diffs up to the top of the gears, if you put to much in it will make a right mess when screwing the diff back together!!

Just out of interest, when blasting grease out of the diffs, where does it go exactly?
I like to use “muk-off†degreaser.

As far as a level- fill to the top of the cross shafts. That leaves enough room for expansion. If you fill them more, expect to be rebuilding them and using new diff cups. Most people that overfill these have the threads stripped out of the diff cups from the fluid expanding and pulling the screws out until the fluid can escape.

LOL!
I put towel down and around what I am cleaning and the grease goes on that. I do remove most of the grease first with my finger (feels really nice
) then blast it out. Yeah fill it up to the top of the shafts LOL
this is probably why mine went everywhere as I filled em to the top of the gears!! Simmyoto you are spot on there m8, the best way of keeping your truck clean is to tuck her in bed and make sure she stays there!!
Seroiously though my truck is so clean because I dont drive it in wet conditions and its really dry and dusty where I live so its just a case of blowing it down and polishing it!

Hi there all,
Well i managed to take the front diff out with no problems
, cleaned it with an air compressor and assembled back together with new oil and shim moved.
Then i came to do the back and i removed the 2 screws at the bottom and the 4 screws in the bulkhead, now i have to remove the tie rods (i think thats what they are called L0L), how would i approach this? by popping them off, unscrewing them, etc.
Thanks

You can leave the tie rods on m8! undo the 6 screws and just pull the whole lot back and drop it down below the level of the diff and slide it out!
