That's great Swager.

Kiswa - flowers from "the girls" is not like "flowers from the husband". At least I hope not. [:'(]

OK, as long as we're (sort of) on the subject of covering, I've finally got my preliminary scheme sketched out. The colors are Metallic Purple, Neon Orange, White, and Charcoal Pearl Ultracote. Hopefully I'll be ready to start the actual covering an a week or so.
(The scan doesn't do the colors justice)

Awesome Swager, I hope mine flies as well as yours did.

I like the covering scheme krossk. I see you went a little more traditional SSE than I did.

Thanks. - I almost went with something like the Hangar 9 Ultimate, but I think I want to save that scheme for a bipe. And I gabe some consideration to a checkerboard on the bottom, but I couldn't make the colors contrast and still flow with the rest of the plane. (I bought the covering shortly after I started building.) I have to admit though, that the neon orange doesn't show up as bright as I thought it would in the sky. The bottom of my T2 goes sort of pale orange in the air. If this is anything like the Tiger, the contrast will come from the purple and white.

Any signs of the UPS guy yet? I'm anxious to see yours come together.

Not yet, but today is the first delivery day possibility. *EDIT I just checked and yesterday was actually the first possible delivery day. I should have this stuff already! [:@] EDIT* Hopefully I'll get to cover some this afternoon! If not... Monday will do. I may get it over the weekend, but I think I should hang out with the wife instead of covering my model. Unless she says otherwise that is.

I wouldn't know about the orange, but I do know the neon green is very visible in the air. The guy that taught me how to fly has a Tiger 2 that has a lot of neon green on it, and you can see that thing in any light conditions. That's the main reason I'm using that color actually.

Well, my web design contract job got moved up to 11am, so I'm about to head over there. Should be fun, and I'll be making a little money while I'm at it. Not much, but it's not bad either.

Yea, I actually took me SSE to the field just to adjust the engine for any type of transition problem as we just broke in the engine last Sunday. We were actually having our Instructor Dinner night (after the season we have a steak dinner for all instructors and field people) and I was flying the 4 Star. Once we worked on the engine to the SSE the other instructor wanted to get it into the air. So the lead instructor took off and it only needed 3 click of aerilon for trimming. Then he gave me the transmitter!! I was not supposed to be flying this thing tonite!! But I stupidly took the Transmitter and I have to be honest, I was scared, but the SSE made it easy for me. What a sweet flying RC plane! Im not kidding. IT made me look good!! I did a couple of low passes to get used to the landing circuit with it. Then brought it in for a landing, only a slight hop. Flew 4 more flights. On the last one we set the elevator controls on -50% EXP because I was a little jerky! Man did that make a difference. Smoooooooooth flying!!

You are going to love this airplane. This comment comes from a fairly beginner pilot that just flew it for the first time.

HAVE FUN!!!!!

Sounds good swager! Congrats! (you were ready for it, you just needed a little "push", that's all )

Ross, Florescent orange is about the most visible color there is, I use it on my glider wing tips so I can see them while "specked out" (really high). The key is to have a somewhat subdued color right next to it, for contrast. nice scheme, can't wait to see pictures of the real deal!

Kiswa, I think you're probably the most patient about your order coming in out of all of us! We all can't wait!

I didn't get it in today. AARGH! [:@] I'm hoping it gets delivered tomorrow.

I had a good afternoon of contract work. It was pretty darn cool. I'm working on creating a database driven PHP powered website. The six hours I spent there really went by fast. I'm going to work from home tomorrow too, so I'll get a few more hours of paid time in.

And even cooler, she really likes my work and seems to be trying to come up with a way to afford me as a full-time employee making $30K/yr. That would be awesome! I'm really hoping she can find some way to hire me, because what she does isn't work to me - it's fun. Yeah, I know, I'm a geek.

Hey kiswa, that's a nice-looking SSE. I enjoyed building mine so much, I know that I will eventually build another one! Here are some pics... I've got a Saito FA82a with a 13x6 prop, man has this thing got power.[sm=punching.gif]

Keep up the good work!

No, not really. If you visit http://web.kiswa.com/services/ you can see what I personally charge.

It's just that I want to make $30K/yr as a full-time employee of a company, and she's not sure she can afford to pay that salary. However, she seems to be impressed with me and has said she can't really afford not to hire me, so I get the feeling she's trying to come up with a way to do it. Personally, I'd love to work there, and if she can get anywhere near $30K/yr I'll take it.

Just dropping in real quick to say I'll probably be out of touch for about a week or so.... apparently I get to go home a little earlier than expected.

I'll check back in when I get settled, looking forward to seeing the plane finished and ready to fly (but take your time and do it right!)

I ordered it from OmniModels.com which I understood to be another storefront for Tower Hobbies. I would have ordered from TH, but they charge more for shipping.

And I look forward to hearing from you in another week cwrr5. Have fun!

Well... I didn't get it in today's mail either. [:@]

It had better show by Monday, or I'm calling them up to see what's going on. (I tried calling them last night actually, but the phones are only open M-F 8a-5p).

I did take my plane with me to the field this morning. That was pretty cool. I had several people tell me it looked like a good solid build, and that my covering looked nice too. One guy said I'd be the only person with a plane like that in the club. That's cool with me, I want my plane to stand out!

Anyone know anything about OmniModels.com? Should I be concerned? Or will their customer service help me out when I call them tomorrow?

Never dealt with them myself but never heard any bad about them either. Been around for a while so that should be good for something. Shipping probably cheaper because they use less expensive (slower) methods. [] Ya pay for what ya get in life. The roll will probably come folded over a couple of times and crammed in a small box. j/k

Hehe....

Anyway, I called OmniModels.com and I must say their customer service is quite good. However, my package was shipped standard post, so I have to wait until Friday to claim it as lost. If I don't have it by then, they'll overnight me a replacement order. I thought that was pretty cool of them.
