Gp, for winglets on the mono mod, I used the lower wings. I cut them at the same angle as the upper wing and 1 1/4 inches out from the airframe. I think the overall measurement was 1 1/2 inches. I've posted pic's of this mod before, but I'll repost them.
Suzonka, I'll post a pic of the stir stick mod as well. I like the stir stick better that the toothpick, because it seems to work better, and supports the wing farther out. Tubes have more inherent strength than solids, and by using two tubes I can better balance the weight.
I'll post one pic of each, if you need more pic's let me know. Tim

Tom, Micro, and anyone else, Am I rebuilding the wheel with the stir stick mod/toothpick mod? I don't remember it being posted before, but the first 30 pages are a blur.

Neoro, this is fun, a breather means gyrotors or picco z's. But someone posted that we had done all we could to the AA. I tend to disagree. Tim
Gp, to post pic's you have to use the "post reply" key. It is immediately under the last post. You can't post pic's from the larger fast reply field. As to wingtip air foils they seem to make the turns larger. I'll let you test my latest idea though. I'm going to get a straw and tape it to the end of the wing( cut to fit and at the same aoa as the wing) and see if the air pressure will cause a tighter turn. I'll get a regular straw and a McD straw to test this. Or you can do this testing. It could be interesting off the jet. remember, have fun!

soldering stuff is pretty easy sama, you just need to heat solder into both bits you want to join first. then apply heat to one or both ends till they melt into each other. as soon as that happens, take the soldering tip away and blow gently to cool the joint into place.

planes from 3 views, or even planes using Star Wars 3 views, I'd say, yeah, the
field is wide open.
Improving upon a design that has reached its maxim and has proven its limitations
is another matter.

I took the stir stick plane out in the wind this afternoon. I fly in an area that blocks the wind due to a semi L shaped house and outbuilding. I could see the plane trying to go with the wind, but the input to the motors translated to inputs to the body of the plane. And that caused the plane to continue to be under control. A standard mono mod would probably have been lost in these winds. Tim

Update on my jet. I have completed the 6401 fix on the rx and put on a pair of super slick-blue- motors... I also put landing gear on it. Believe it or not it took of from the ground. " WAY COOL "... I am working on some lights for nihgt flight, next. I wish i could a vid of this thig getting off the ground.. Total weight is 24.1g.

With all that wing area that jet has, those super slick motors are just
what it needs. They would be great on that yellow canard that jaskel
has aslo.
I'm hoping the next new plane in the AA line up has these super slick
motors as stock, with the RX upgrade, and with a 3 channel actuator.
Am I asking too much?

Do you guys think it would be possible to make an AA with only the bottom wings, no top wings? I want to try it. I don't think it would balance too well. I would put the motors on the bottom wings. It would look kind of like an firebird freedom, from hobbyzone. I might also try a heli, I already have a design thought out, I just don't think it would get much lift, or even work.

Suzonka, those are part of the silverlit x-twin product line. It appears that Air Hogs (spinmaster), won't allow them in the country. A non-compete clause is my guess. If you google silverlit, you'll find their site and see all the goodies they make. Tim

He had the motors all the way out to the wing tips to get it to turn without
flipping over.

I just flew my AA, it flew good but it is really sensitive to turning. I am going to make some skis, or landing gear tonight to see if that helps any with turning. But it cuts threw wind good, so I will keep it like that for now. I haven't flown in a 2 months atleast. The first time I threw it, it went right into a tree.
But then I got it all trimmed out and it's flying great. I still wish I could do the FET mod so I could fly my other one.[&o] I am going to go fly it again. I will tell you guys how it goes.

Well it ended quickly. I crashed it and It went into the ground, not hard at all, it looked really soft. But I guess not, because the motor popped off. So CA glue does not work. So I am using gorilla glue right now. Hopefully, it never comes undone.

Micro has some, you can have some, you just have to pay the postage. Sorry, micro but I was reading through the rcgroups stuff.
That said, the ewiki site does not mention the mono mod at all. Much less the follow on mods. But I am inept enough at this that I could not enlighten them. Tim
