I jumped off the cliff and bought a gyrotor today from hobbytron. They also have the piccoz's in stock. I thought about putting a couple of toothpicks on the wings, sort of like rockets. There is a picco z tool box site, looks almost the same as the aa tool box site. Tim

RE: PiccoZ Micro R/C heli
the two sites are from the same guy i do believe, it should prove quite usefull.
how much was the gyrotor with shipping from hobbytron?
anyway, someone just posted this mod earlier today and so far i've got to say its one of the best thing i've done to it yet. its very simple, just cut a few millimeters of the leading edge off the blade, where it folds down. cutting an inch or more of the leading edge makes the heli have almost no vibration at the lower throttle positions. it can still be squirly when the cell is freshly charged, but once it calms down a little, its much easier to controll.
flight times are said to have increased, i'm charging now and will see how much time i get. here's a couple pictures of the mod (not my photos).

cut the plastic peices off like in the picture. he used the tape just to show where and how much to trim off. i trimmed the entire leading edge and it seemed good too, but i hold no accountability if someone trims off too much!

Micro, the gyrotor is 67. with ground shipping(fedex). My problem is it still shows to be processing. Can I ask what heli are you cutting down?

RE: PiccoZ Micro R/C heli
I have put 6 pieces of the aluminum sticker on the nose and still only have moderate forward mobility. I will try to add more weight later. This second Z I got ( A channel-RED ). flies great compared to the B I had. I got the B because like the bipe I thought it would be the best one of the 3...
Am I the only one that has to turn on the Tx for the Z to charge ? I took the 1st one back because of this, the one I just got does the same thing...
This thing is a blast to fly !!!

RE: PiccoZ Micro R/C heli
Ferndale,
thanks for the price. i'm trimming the piccos blades. i havent gotten the gyrotor or micro mosquito...yet!
DJ,
to get some quicker forward speed without the weight of the stickers, put some canards on the nose, or make a little hood scoop on the nose. both of these will use the main props propwash push the nose of the heli down, making it go forward. it works really well, there's a pic of mine on page 4 of this thread. the differant channels shouldnt make too much of a differance on glitches or range as its IR, rather than RF. like the AA, it's hit or miss on just how well one heli will work compared to the next. but, also like the AA, it usually just takes a bit of tinkering to get it flying nicely.
frank10,
the gyrotor is bigger and heavier, so its more stable. plus, its got a simple but effective gyro in it so it holds its heading better than the picco's. its basically a slightly more fancy version of the picco, but the 3 blade tail prop is enough for me to buy one (i'm such a sucker).

RE: PiccoZ Micro R/C heli
Here are pics of my first picco z mod. It flew better but, I think the canards(me and my canard theory again) should be more parallel to the rotors.
138t, if you put your weight in the front in the form of a 25mm cannon, bulbous(sp?) with a snout, it would continue the gunship look.
For anyone, I think the body shape is more like an ah-1 super cobra. Do you think it's more like an ah-64 apache?
