Hi All,
The extra's are now here and ready to go and as I believe Dan (freestyle-rc) has sold out of all of his 1st shipment of 58" extras!!!
I am hopefully receiving mine tomorrow, it is the red and blue version and is going to be all electric powered!!
Here is my setup:
Torque Revolution Motor and Airboss 80A speed Controller running on an APC-E 15x8 prop
Flight Power Evo Lite 5S1P 3700mAh batteries
Hitec HS5245 servos on ailerons and elevator and a Hitec HS225MG on rudder
Hitec Electron 6 receiver
I am hoping for an all up weight of around 5.5lbs and it should be ballistic on this with 10minutes plus flying time from the batteries.
As I believe the model goes together really easily and can be ready to flying within a day, tedious work such as the cutting of the trim on the tail plane to mate to the fuz is done etc etc
I will be providing a build thread and lots of pics and videos very soon.
any questions fire away,
cheers
Graham

Well after another few hours of doing the little otha bits shes ready to go, made up with it what an absolute pleasure it is to build, the quality is just awesome, everything goes where it should and with 100% accuracy.
The bad news is I gotta wait until the weekend to fly it now! but as soon as i do I will get some vids and pics together.
final pics of the build:

Hey Guys,
Great videos!!! As I was watching the Higherplanes video, they said there is goin to be a glow conversion for this. You guys hear anything about that? I was thinking a little 80 4 stroke.. I know this is a electric thread but this the first one I saw with the new Extra..

yep there are many 58" extras that have a glow engine in and with great results, no videos as of yet sorry.
The ideal engine for this model (glow) is the saito 82 fourstroke, this is by far giving the best results, but I know of people using YS63's and west 50 2 stroke engines all with great results.
The glow version is identical to the electric version, only it has strengthening pieces around the firewall etc and comes with a tank.
Have a look here, the instruction manuals can also be found here for both the electric and glow version:

Hey Graham,
Thanks alot for the info. How do you guys get everything before Chris over at Extreme Flight?? Can I use the same servos that the electric version uses?
Thanks again,
Frank
