Thanks gentlemen,

I appreciate all the input !

I finally got the wing totally covered

Bob

That's snazzy looking. I'd keep the landing gear. It updates its looks a bit, but retains the classic flavor of the design. Let us know how you like it.

Well, after much thinking and trying to get
the K&B 61 broke in. I am going to pull my
Saito 82 off of my Stick and put it on the
Hog. At this point it's more reliable than the
61 and is already broke in. I don't want to
have a dead stick on my Maiden.

The 61 is the older style, with the needle valve
very close to the Prop. So is the glow plug too.

Thanks 8,

That's what I thought too.

The Saito has me spoiled. It is
sooo much more predictable
and looks good too.

I am working on my HOG and like what I see in your build. Can you tell and/or show how you placed you main gear in? How far forward of the wing and with what?

Thanks for all your help!!

Hey, Billy!....I lived in Cullman back in the '90's. Flew at the old field across from the tire plant. Good luck with your Astro-Hog (I'm plan building one now, too) and welcome to the Forum. Have fun!

Hello,

Today was maiden flight of my Astro, what a plane!! Is the best plane I´ve flown, very predictable, rolls slow and straight, lands perfect.. it is what says in the box, "nothing flyes like a Hog". Its low weight gives it less inertia in turns and is very pleasant to fly, not like my Superskybolt kit .....
It has a YS63, I think is more than enough power, takes off with 60% throttle and flyes perfect on 50%. Loops can be very long, (or large, sorry for my english). I must trim it better in order to get a good inverted flight, or must I trim me????
The plane is a dream. You can see a pic.
Probably I will order another kit to keep it on the wardrobe :-)))) Will be this kits in the future?? Nobody knows...

Saludos,
Carlos

I like the color schemes.
I have one in my closet just in case the one I fly expires too.
You never know when a kit will disappear with no warning.

I found they are even easy to repair after wiping out on takeoff. I like the OS 91 surpass on mine. Plenty of power, sounds better and less oil to wipe off compared to using a 2 stroke.

Good restoration!!! It seems there happened nothing...
I think the astro has not a complex design, therefore a reparation/restoration would not be difficult.
I hope not to think about in the future :-))
Nice scheme!
