I got this 1:10 scale MONSTER XX at Target for $99.99 and wondered if anyone else has seen this. It's all wheel drive and weatherproof. I want to get extra battery packs for it (7.2 volt NiMH 3500 mah+). Any recommendations on where to buy them and best brand to get? Thanks.

I got it this weekend. I found it in the Target store not far from me, the store just got these in last week. They also had a 1:16 scale too, but no extra battery packs.

I like promatch for my NiMH needs. Send an email and see if you could have a "Tamiya" plug put on it for you.

RC MACHINES, nice score. That truck doesn't look bad at all!
Looks like a standard 540 motor, a standard servo, lot of standardized stuff on there!
Now you just need to put a monster motor in there and some 3S lipo batteries and make it go 50 mph
Looks like a fun truck! Does Target sell parts? Suspension arms, etc?

It looks like Target is only selling the complete packaged RC vehicle. The motor is a 550 type motor and the vehicle is weatherproof. It's pretty fast and the all wheel drive gives it nice power through grass. I don't think I'm ready for 50 MPH just yet, I'm still working on avoiding trees, small kids and mailboxes. Lol! Good thing this has big soft rubber tires. Lot of fun, but I definitely need more battery packs.

RC...what kind of charger do you have?
ThunderbirdJunkie will dig around his old stuff since he's switched to lipo exclusively to see if he has anything he can spare. Where in IL are you?

Hey Thunderbird Junkie I got your PM. Cool thanks. That's very nice of you. I tried to send you back a PM but it says your box is full.

Promatchracing emailed me back and told me that they will put a Tamiya plug on their battery pack for me. That's cool. Thanks for the suggestion Brainanator.

TAMIYA DF 02
Extreme Machines is the ones that did the costco truck last winter, glad to see they got a better distribution system, they had the Raptor Traxx and Thunder Traxx at costco so another version may be coming. DF 02 parts will interchange but Extreme Machines has their own parts outlet through a hobby shop, you can find more info and the phone number on their website.
Check RC Mart, lots of upgrades for the DF 02

yeah that is a copy of the tamiya df-02.<div>
</div><div>If it comes with the metal gear diffs and they didnt skimp out and make em plastic it will handle brushless and lipo easily.</div><div>
</div><div>All you need is an alloy driveshaft for the df-02 and the steel cvd,s for the df-02 and youre set.</div>

heh, best looking rc I'v seen at a department store......maybe the rc market is growing to a point they feel they can turn a profit stocking "better than toy grade" rc's.</p>

Wow, its a freakishly close copy of my RC18MT......if it were 1/10th. Looks like it might actually be a descent quality car too.

My buddy went and got one also so we can both have fun and maybe he will stop asking to drive mine. Lol. Here's a couple of pictures of his MONSTER XX Truck that I thought you would like to see.
It is a lot of fun when you can race somebody. <div>

Wow that is alot different from the rc trucks from department stores I played with when I was younger , i remember my old tyco super rebound
only went like 12 mph and it didn't have steering you had to press one stick at a time to turn but I never broke anything on and I jumped it off everything and ran it through water and all I had to do was let it dry out.
I bet parent will be spending alot of money fixing that truck.
