Beam mounts
Hi all,
I just purchased a new evolution 40GX(my first gas engine) for my 1/4 scale Balsa usa spad. I would like to use beam mounts but the only size I can find are G.P. 1.20 - 1.80. mounts.
Will these work?
Bob

RE: Beam mounts
Bob,
This engine has a crankcase width of 60 mm.
For some reason, Tower's tech dept does not seem to understand that this is the most crucial dimension of the mount...
The the internal span between the bearers, is what determines if a mount will fit a certain engine, or not.
[link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXATG7&P=7]This mount[/link] has what Tower calls a 'mounting width' of 60-75 mm, which is what I believe to be the crankcase widths if can bear.
If this is correct, it will suit your MVVS 40 cc engine.
But I believe you should ask them this question, before buying it.
