weirdest collection thread
I was thinking after reading a thread in 1/4 scale cars. what is the weirdest things you have collected or have seen collected or even collections that are someones obsession.
I will start of by sharing with you
the weirdest collection I have ever seen was dolls. I am talking obsessing, Dolls in the kitchen. Lifelike dolls. Dolls all over the living room in the bedroom, I am talking several life size dolls in the bedroom "freaky" many many more dolls in boxes in the basement. Credit cards maxed out and owed everyone in town but she had her Dolls

Me, Hot Sauces, fridge magnets and X-mas tree decorations (not in quantity but in quality).
I know someone who's into collecting all the coca cola stuff too...it's worth over a hundred grand.
My mom used to collect matchbooks from everywhere she went. She had boxes of them from all over the world.
Step-dad collects wines, coins and stamps.
Sorry, nothing too weird here though...[&o]

Nothing real weird here either but I do collect (or should I say hoard ((SP)) ) bicentennial coins. Also I do have an extensive collection of R/C stuff, fishing stuff, guns and tools. Thats about it.

when i was a kid i collected rocks. it wasn't even anything special. i would just find one that looked cool so i would take it home and put it in the box.
currently i collect hot wheels, shot glasses and old school video games.
and if it counts i build and display model cars. got almost 30 of them, id call that a collection.
in the late 80's i collected baseball cards.
iv got a friend that collects guitars. got another friend that collected "water pipes" until he had kids and got married (in that order). i know a few people who are into collecting vintage BMX bikes and skateboards. had an ex girlfriend who's step dad collected vintage pornography.

Had an x-g/f who collected ANYTHING David Bowie. Each wall in her room focused seperately on his career changes. She actaully had a shrine dedicated to him where she would burn incense and candles....

You know where Daivd Bowie got His name from?
David Bowie was born as David Robert Jones, and still maintains that name for legal purposes. He changed his stage name to David Bowie in 1966 to avoid confusion with another famous Davy Jones (then enjoying success on the London stage and later as a member of the band The Monkees). Reports say that he chose the name Bowie because he liked the name Mick Jagger and wanted a similar "cutting" name. He picked the Texan Jim Bowie (famous for the eponymous Bowie knife) because he wanted to have the name of an American, as he has always been fascinated by America
LOL

RE: weirdest collection thread
Game Collecting isnt really classified as a weird collection, neither is hot wheels.
I have a couple neighbors that have begun collecting old Atari cartridges.
Crystal Castles, and BurgerTime were mine
and my sisters favorite atari cartridges. But after Mario Brothers took over,
pacman was almost out of the picture...
Never owned the Atari 7800 but that was about as close to an 8-bit nintendo as you could get in that time period.
All My freinds had were the Atari 800's, whereas I had the 2600.
