RE: PLEO...??
Pleo "hatched" 2 days ago!
This thing is quite a piece of kit really. $375 worth of kit...[X(]. Luckily it wasn't me paying for it.
It has something like 14 - 16 servos in it and numerous different sensors. Camera, mic pick up, etc. Makes loads of different sounds.
It took about 10 minutes for it to 'wake up' after a load of stretching and wobbling around making all kinds of noises and stuff.
It 'eats' a soft plastic leaf with a micro chip in it. He's now spending time just exploring the house and getting to know his way around.
This thing is really whicked. Loads of emotions, learns as it goes, it's autonomis but needs attention and care.
It hasn't spent a whole lot of time walking, more like taking wobbly baby steps and stuff but yesterday it made it from the balcony door to the front door...about 35 - 40 ft.
Luckily our cat hasn't freaked out on it. Seems to realize it's not another living creature. That's a good thing.
More PLEO updates later....LOL

RE: PLEO...??
Man that's awesome! I remember reading something in Servo Magazine about Pleo and they had a picture of him without his skin on. Besides all the cool plastic parts inside, its just jam packed with electronics and wires, makes my crawler's wiring job look neat in comparison! I heard that you can also change his mood on the computer, or was that gen-1
