These things really can't be that complicated. This (Su do khoi) is the second (first was balsa nova) that I've used pp controls. I can't seem to get them adjusted properly. Either there seems to be slack in the line or the servo buzzes. I think I read somewhere that you should have the linkage hookup the same distance from the hinge line as the hookup is from the center of the servo. I can just about do this with the elevator but using the biggest servo arms I have I can't come close with the rudder to get full swing. So on the rudder I've brought the horn linkages fairly close. (3/8" from the hinge line.) Where is the PP installation guide for idiots?

It's OK for the line not being pulled to go slack.
On my Top-Cap (same plane in essence) I use normal large horns, with the cable in the 2nd hole from the outer end at the surface, and the standard long servo arm at the servo, using the outermost hole, on both the rudder and elevator.

Thanks about the slack line hint. (However I sense a little 'dead band' near neutral with slack. I'll try again.) Do you get enough throw on the rudder with that setup? I do the same for the elevator which per instructions only needs 1/2" throw (I've got much more) but with that setup I don't get full rudder deflection.

My Top Cap is a better flier than I am!
With the amount of rudder I have it will do knife-edge loops. No problem at all.
Dual-rates are the fliers friend....
For real 3D, lots of surface is required.

I have the TopCap set up like Tall Paul described. I get PLENTY of throw on the tail surfaces. I also have a little slack on one side or the other. I too was concerned about this, but with around 50 flights I haven't had any problem with it. Good Luck!

I have been using Brian Felice's system for the last three years and no longer have any problems with pull-pull. His incorporation of the Ackerman principle is what makes it work so well.

Ok, first, you're right, it's not that complicated. They aren't ever gonna be perfect so just get it close, make sure it won't flutter in the center position, fly the snot out of it.

My first several were on full bodied planes. The servos were centered in the fuse and the cables were the EXACT same length, etc...... Then I get this morris product w/ the servos in the wing, I didn't think it would work. I got the above advice from __________ (Name deleted to protect the guilty) and never looked back. Yep, the Knife is dead, but not from the PP, or even from the hundred and something tailtouches! The tx died!
