I just don't have the knowledge of programming by 9CAP that I should but I know that I should have some programing in there to help me with 3d.
Can someone tell me what is essentially? The only thing I figured out was the exponential and that helped like 200% so a few more tricks I think would help.
I think I need to program...
1. Crow...you guys use that?
2. Elevon.... ??
3. Flaperon... ??
Anything else.

Check out the thread started a little down the page. It gives an idea of what some of us are using and what we have found to be troublesome. Crow only works if you have a wing with four surfaces and four servos driving them. Most of us only use two aileron servos and them program in Spoilerons and flaperons. Dual rates and expo is whatever you like. As I get more comfortable with a plane I gradually take out expo and don't use low rates near as much. Some like mixes to eliminate roll and pitch coupling with rudder application. It's pretty much whatever suits you.

With a new plane. I keep everything simple till I know how it responds. I'd either set it up with all aileron or ailerons and regular flaps. Fly it a while that way and then do the extra programming for crow and such. Always try to have a panic switch when you are doing unusual stuff so you can get the plane back to a conventional configuration real easy if you were to get into trouble.

Well I have been flying it for awhile now. I have the flaps but they are a pain. Its on the default knob. I want to try some more wild things.
I tried setting the flaps and doing loops but it wasn't that effective. Probably slowed the plane down too much going into the loops. It would be nice to couple those...
You can set a single switch to put everything back to one place? How do you do that? I'm lost in my radio. I find the manual that Futuba sends not to be very useful...

You have to play with the throws on both flaperons and spoilerons when you mix them with elevator. Too much flap will do just like you described. A good place to start is around 50% flap travel with full elevator. Also, the application of flaps creates lots more drag so you would have to compensate with more throttle to pull it through the tighter loop. It's all experimenting. I've never had one that was "done". My EF Edge is as close as I've ever gotten and I haven't even really started on it! I have made maybe ten flights on it and tuned on it five times. I'm still cutting back rudder throw and expo on both rudder and elevator. I may program in some mixes but it does pretty good as it is.
