Build an Ashley MM
The engine was removed and I proceeded to pot the wing in the normal way.
The top of the wing was covered with plastic wrap.
The nylon screws were coated with Vaseline to help keep the epoxy from sticking to them.
A mix of finishing epoxy and micro balloons was used make the fillet.
I had to add some more mix from the sides into the wing saddle.
Make sure you clean up the fuselage. Alcohol on a paper towel works well.

The landing gear was drilled and countersunk for nylon screws.
The gear was set in place and checked for alignment.
The hole location was marked, drilled, and tapped.
Wood blocks were countersunk a small amount.
Nylon screws hold the gear in place.

The firewall and motor mount were installed on the second model.
The wing and engine incidences were checked and double checked.
After I was satisfied that they were as true as could be the firewall was reinstalled as per earlier steps.

The wing was potted on the second model.
The center section of the wing was wrapped with plastic wrap.
The wing saddle was sanded with coarse sandpaper to allow the glue to stick.
A mix of micro-balloons and finishing epoxy was applied to the saddle and the wing was attached.
The wing was set out of the way to dry.

The wing was attached to the model and it adjusted until the wing was level.
A small level was used to determine the cut lines on the fuselage.
A Dremel with cut off disk was used to cut the slot for the horizontal stabilizer.

The slot in the fuselage was adjusted until the tail was level with the wing.
This took a few tries.
Don't worry too much if the slots are a little wide. The tail will later be jigged in place and the tail surfaces glued on.

The elevator horn was slipped into the fuselage prior to the horizontal stabilizer.
The horn was then located as needed and tacked in place with CA.

After I was satisfied all surfaces were straight they were glued in place with epoxy glue.
A bead of epoxy was applied where the horizontal stabilizer joined the fuselage.

The belly pan was from another model and didn't fit very well.
The fiberglass was sanded to allow something to attach to.
Some polyester filler (Bondo) was used to build up the area prior to sanding.
In a few minutes the filler is hard enough for easy shaping. I used a rasp and followed with a sanding block.

The aileron servo installation is similar to my earlier models.
Dowels hold the servo in place. They were glued in place with 6-minute epoxy.

Here are a few pictures of the radio installation.
The battery is installed behind wing using Velcro.
More screws will be added at the servos at a later time.

A pushrod was made for the elevator.
The z-bend, at the servo, was test fit and glued in place. Some rubberized CA was used and works well.
