Default WED SITES!

Hi I'm price searching for A trainer, at lest .40 size, I would like it o be all most ready to fly as well. And I need some sites to go to, I have visited Tower hobbies, and E-hobbies. I found e-hobbies to be over priced though I found a good size .40 trainer at tower hobbies. Can any one help me please?

By the way, what do you all think of my new sig.?

Click up above where it says "Produce Guide" and you will find lots of information. I like Tower Hobbies and their web site has lots of good trainers.

Honestly, I don't understand your phrase "Fear is the mind-killer!". If the mind is killed, you obviously are no longer living. That tells me fear will kill you. But to the contrary, fear is often a life saving emotion which protects you from danger. How your expression could relate to RC is totally beyond me.

The GodBomber name and picture of an atomic explosion raises a lot of questions also. I'm not sure what kind of statement you are making.

I do not mean no harm, I just like the photo. If it is a big problem I see no reason not to change it so just tell me . And I know fear is a good thing some times, But when I use it, I mean it as don't let fear get you down or ruin your goals. So I mean don't be afraid to fly and don't let it destroy your dreams, or get in the way. Like I say I mean no harm. And if anyone thinks just because I have that photo as an avatar, don't think I'm a weirdo or something like that, I simply want to be different that is all.

By the way, thank you for your help . I like tower hobbies also, I just have a slow connection to the web, so it makes it sometimes hard to load it. My goals in the R/C world right now are Join a club, Buy a plane, learn to fly. And then from there I will go. So if any one has a problem with anything about me, I'm an open guy I will see what I can do . Accept I will not change my name, unless it means me getting kicked of the forums, but I have lasted this long.

I have visited many sites over the years and they all have pros and cons. I was just introduced to [link]http://www.servohut.com[/link] by another member and found the prices are low where I like them for the items that I sought. They are not the size of tower but hey live and let live.

Default RE: WED SITES! GET THE AVISTAR SELECT!

Get the Hobbico Avistar Select RTF from Tower Hobbies. It took my son about twenty minutes to have the plane ready for flight (course we had to charge the batteries so couldn't fly right away).

The plane's tough out of the box and 'Ready to Fly'. It has a semi-symmetrical airfoil will permit some exciting flying. The OS Max 40LA is really easy to break in and almost stupid proof.

You don't even have to epoxy the wings and tail. Just use the included hardware and do the add on strengthening once you start burning some holes in the sky.

I just crashed it though, so make sure you tie wrap the excess aileron servo wires so they don't tangle up in the throttle servo like mine did.

Nice plane, buy it!

Another thought! since your 1st plane should be a high wing trainer, May I suggest checking the forsale Items here, and at your Local Hobby shop and or airfield.

Often after someone has, or even sometimes hasn't, learned to fly, they will sell their setups 4 cheap! you could get a plane, Engine, radio, Starter kit. for the fraction of the cost of new!

Hey GB, try the Hobbico Avistar. It has been around a while and has taught a lot of people to fly. It also will allow you to progress a little further in your flying ability before it becomes outdated.

I know thats what I need, Thats what I want aswell. I also heard that starting out with electric is a bad idea! I is harder to learn with and you learn bad habits.

About the previous post about not learning on electrics.....There's nothing wrong with learing to fly with electrics, they will just most likely take you longer to learn to fly. Even though at the time I had a glow trainer, I taught myself to fly electrics independently of the club. Did I learn any bad habits? No, not that I've been told about. I do, however, appreciate the abundance of thrust that glow planes can provide me with. I'm also one of the best dead-stick landers in our club. So, whether not this post was pointless, that's for you to decide . I just don't want anyone to get a wrong impression of our electric aspect of the hobby. Also, electrics are much cleaner, make a better impression on the neighbors next door, and are much easier to deal with. With electrics, all you really need to troubleshoot is a volt meter...while with glow it could be: burned out glow plug...untightened bolt...incorrect clunk position....hole in fuel system....old fuel...dead glow plug heater (DOH!) -Andrew

I'm saying to learn with electric as a fist plane teaches you bad habits, I may be wrong though. After I learn to fly with gas I will probably learn to fly with electric as well.

I have seen a PT25 on electric and it flew just as good as glow. I also have seen a Rascal on electric and it was good too. What is wrong with electric power?

IMHO electric flying (especially indoor or park), is incredibly boring. Electrics are too slow, small, weather dependant, quiet, and I just plain like the smell of gas. I'll stick to glow or gas thank you.

I also believe that flying electric will improve your stick and rudder ability, not corrupt it.

My two cents...............
