OK, my modeltech Magic extra is really screwed up on this one.
I have this problem, the wing mounting screws can't come out!
No matter how long I screw it anti clockwise, it just won't come out. It stays stuck in there... It seems to hold the wing down real tight, though when it's loose it still won't come out. What's wrong?
And if I unscrew it until it becomes real loose, when i use force, it will go back in, real tight, like I'm back to square 1.
This problem is really buggging meeeeeeee.
Help?

Sounds like you are using nylon wing bolts. If this is the case your bolts are probably stripped out and will not unscrew. When you push down on them the threads on the bolt give and snap into the next tighter thread causing them to stay tight. You might try prying up on the bolt heads if you can while you unscrew the bolt. It might help them come out. If this don't work you will just have to experiment. I have had to drill through the center of a bolt before with a smaller drill bit then chiesel the pieces out. Also reverse drill bits (they drill holes in a counter clockwise direction) will work but unless you have them they might not be worth the cost. Just some things I have done on other stuck bolts, never had one like that on a plane before. Good Luck.

I'm using metal bolts.
Um... I managed to get the bolts out. It seems that my nuts are not loose at all! Maybe it's really the screws!
Maybe they are... how do I check?
Also on one of the nuts, the screw can't completely go in...

hi
if you are using nylon bolts and you can partially unscrew enough to bet under the head of the screw and cut the head off with a cut off wheel you can remove the wing and the remainder of the bolts and start anew.
hope this helps
good flying

From: gone,
Punch out the blind nuts from behind the plywood plate. Tap the ply plate and go to 1/4-20 nylon wing mount screws. If you feel the need... double the ply plate and drill that to give more material for the screws to grab. Then after the holes are drilled and tapped... a few drops of CA harden the threads (retap after 20 to 30 min... the CA swells the wood a little)

FH is dead on. It sounds like some damaged threads somewhere. Drill and tap for 1/4-20 nylon. it should cure your problem. The ca trick is good to do as well.
