Default Lettering

Where does one go to get nicely cut lettering for a plane's name or Advertisement.

I made a mane using WS word and tried cutting the name out of monokote for my 4 Star and it turned out kinda crappy. Is there anyplace that can do custom cutting of material that would be suitable for putting on a RC plane?

Thanks

I've made all my lettering and numbering using Word, monokote and a hobby knife. Just go slow.

Go to one of those stores that does Computer cut Vinyl lettering. Trophy stores often do it. You then have a choice of either lettering or paint masks. If the lettering is required the scrap around the lettering is removed. If a paint mask is required the lettering is removed. I use this service for paint masks and I air brush the colors I require.

You can also print on decal paper available from several places such as MicroMark. It needs to be clear coated.

Normally I do what has been suggested already. I put a very light coat of spray glue on the back of the print and then apply it to the film. Use very sharp blades and change them as often as necessary. It is tedious and I can't say I enjoy it, but I've been pleased with the results. I only do this with graphics of reasonable size. I wouldn't want to cut out 1/4" letters this way. Decals rule!

Or you can call a sign making company (Look in the yellow pages) - Most of them do vinyl cutting

Yep, use vinyl. It will last a long time and is very easy to apply
