I have a Great Planes 40 size Slow Poke. I purchased this plane in an on floor auction at a swap meet. I love to fly this plane and have put on a 52 size O.S. Four Stroke. I am wondering if anyone out there would know where I would be able to get a replacement windshield for the cockpit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can buy clear plastic sheet in the craft department at Wal-mart and you can cut your own from that. My set of plans is at the house and when I get home I can scan the cutting pattern for you. At least I think the pattern is on the plans (so don't hold my feet to the fire). Even if push comes to shove you don't have to buy one, you can cut a replacement from a soda bottle. I've cut plenty of windshields from soda bottles in the past.

You don't have to buy that part from GP. You can cut your own windshield. You have a couple of choices, you can buy a sheet of clear plastic from the crafts section at your local Wal-mart. Or you could simply use a 2 liter soda bottle and cut a new windshield out of that. I have the Slow Poke 40 kit and I've scanned the windshield template for you. You can download it here : [link]http://www.infinityok.com/review/slow_poke_windshield_pattern.pdf[/link]
I've saved it as a PDF so the dimensions will be correct. Just print it out and cut out the template, then you can cut a new windshield for it.
Hope this helps

Thanks a million RCKen....I do greatly appreciate the help...I'm very new to this hobby and the one common thing I'm finding is the willingness of other guys, like yourself, to help us younger flying pups out....A million thanks and hopefully someday I can repay the same to someonelse. Thanks again for everyone's help.

Ditto, go with the soada bottle. It's preformed for you!! It's cheap, you get a few from the same bottle, and it comes with a free drink!
I put a 4star 60 capony on mine. Looks way cool!! bombs too!!

I flew one of these with a Saito 65 with a 14-4 prop for a couple of years (until it's expriation date came up). It could hover briefly and was a blast to fly. I would love to have another one. If any one has one in the box that they would like to part with let me know.
