Default Engine Problem

I have a Evolution .46 that when the throtlle is all the way shut (the barrel in the carb is closed completly) the engine continues to idle. I cannot get it to stop. Has anyone had this problem. I am guessing that it is getting air from somewhere. Any ideas.

Try pulling off the carb and putting it back on tightly before screwing it on. Sometimes air can get around the o-ring seal in an improperly seated carb.

After you remove the carb, clean the neck and draw bar / pinch bolt then use a little Silicone sealer when you put it back together. (just a thin film of it wiped around the carb neck, and the bolt is all you need )

The carburetor barrel wears out after some time of use, allowing air to sneak from the control arm to the ventury, enough to keep the iddle in the engine with the throat completely closed.

You could verify that by covering the barrel with grease temporarly and trying to kill the engine as normal.

Replacing the barrel may be the only solution, if you verify that it is actually weared out.

It's most likely the oring that seals your carb. If you can put your finger over the carb and it still idles, then that's the culprit. If it stops instantly, then there's something internal in the carb itself leaking.
