ok guys ive read some many posts on this and i need a strait answer. Hyper 7 pcr or violator. Ill probly never run in a sanctioned race so im not worried about the violator. The guys at the local track say if its a buggy and goes vroom vroom then i can run it. What are some advantages and disadvantages. `Some one pelase help me out im so sick of my rc10gt. Thanks

If you're not gonna race, then I say go with the violator.

the hyper 7 pcr is a race buggy,it has all the racing features in an rtr package. the violator is a bash buggy but like you said is racable at the track, but the hyper 8 port is a better engine then the force 26. I say go with the PCR{watch out for the laydown servos though}

My lhs only has a violator there but no pcr.
the pcr is more expensive then the violator.
Which one will hold up better for big A*s jumps and just serious bashing on the track.
Why dont people like the force 26. Im not a big fan of the roto start but the hyper starter box that comes in the package suks n e way.
Can i use my AE starter box for the violator even know it ahs a roto start. Does it still have the fly wheel coming through the chassis?

i thought the violator came with the "outlaw" .26 which is a picco motor , not a force? the outlaw is supposed to be a down and dirty nut-bustin beast of a motor![:@] it's supposed to have more torque than a space shuttle in take off but not quite the upper end speed of an 8-port. i could be wrong.

I have a Violator and I love it for bashing. It's made it through probably a half dozen head on crashes into trees, 14'+ jumps and a bunch of other torture I put it through. Only broken parts so far were a cv shaft, rock shield, and a couple cracked wheels. You'll need a couple better servos definitely, but I think that goes for the pcr as well. You can buy a violator on ebay for $400 shipped right to your door. The rotostart works good and is better than carrying around a starter box just make sure you have a few batteries for it. I'm in the same situation your in. Never plan to race really, but my local track would allow it if I ever wanted too. My main deciding factor was the fuel tank and the wider suspension. Wider is better!

They are both nice buggies. I would prefer the Hyper 7 becuse its a great dual purpose buggy, racing/bashing, and if you were to get serious about racing and goto different tracks than you would be better off with the Hyper 7.

I recently bought a Violator, and it rocks. It is the most fun i've had "beating up" a buggy in a long time. It has been relativly inexpensive to own(nothing broke.........yet) and I've had it for a little over a month. It's much better than just about any 1/10 you can find. It truely can ake a beating.

Go with the Violator. It is made to be tough. I race mine at the local track with no problems. They know it isn't "race lagal", but no one seems to care. The Force 26 is no punk! Don't think an 8 port will just run away from you on the track. We have a pretty small, technical track, that 1/8 buggies can't really wind out on anyway. It is not slow at all! I can corner better than anyone because of the width. It tends to drift out instead of traction rolling. The 140 cc tank is great too. Yes, you can use a starter box. I do! The Roto-start is crap.

I took my violator on a flat field and was jumping it off a ramp all day.
That thing took a beating and not one thing bent or broke.
One time I half missed the jump at almost full speed and it landed on it's side and cartwheeled like crazy and was still fine.

I have no experience with the PCR, but I love my violator

I have both motors and have run them in my hyper 7 the Force .26(with roto start and its great) has alot of low end grunt but the 8 port has more top end. I think they are both great motors for the cost but I liker my 8 port better

WOW Nice replies on the violator! Definitely go with it, Look at all the support! I agree that this thing corners better than any buggy due to the width. I have a few vids of mine if you want to see it in action.

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't trying to ruffle any feathers. The Roto-Start is an awsome idea. It was just lacking in quality materials on the shaft part. I went through 2 shafts before I bought a starter box. I kept shearing the pins off of the dog bone end of the shaft. Also, the way you have to thread the needle through the suspension and left dogbone is not too fun. All of you Roto-Start guys need to look at your left rear dogbone to see where it is worn thin by starting at the wrong angle.[]

at this point i am going to jump ship and say that you shold get the violator. it has more bashing power than the hyper7 and is prolly more durable. if you want a review pick up the april{I think} issue of rc nitro

the hyper pcr is 3 times more durable then the violator.

the pcr shock towers are about 3 times thicker in their thickest part, as well as servo tray chassis braces and so forth.

Impossible, I have to try very hard to break my violator and usually I'm unsucessful. Everyone agrees that the violator is the ultimate basher or at least 90% of us. Also 3x thicker??? So does that mean that they are 12mm thick because I believe the violators are 4mm thick. Camaro, I'm curious as to which one you decided on. I know their both great, but the violator is just cooler with the wider suspension and bigger tank and all, as long as you dont care about ROAR rules that is. Plus isn't the PCR version PBS?? If it is, Ive heard several times from users on here and read in mags that PBS suspension isn't as durable or tough as the violator's style. I think the main advantage that a lot of people overlook is the width of the violator, it's 330mm which might not seem like much more than normal, but it's almost 10% wider! Thats huge! If you made your 1:1 cars suspension stance 10% wider the difference would be night and day and it applies here as well.

no, once again the pcr parts are MUCH MORE DURABLE.
and you have the option of c cup or pbs. your choice to go back and forth as you wish.

the violator is probably cheeper, but the shock towers are NOT as beefy is all i'm telling ya.
