i have a hot bodies lightning 2 rr. all was well. i had the buggy up to 48mph with some to play with aswell.
i started up the next session went well for a while until i rolled it. the engine after that peaked at 28 mph. this remained so until i turned the needle past the recommeded warning point. in this case 2 1/2 turns from closed. Once at this level the car was like a rato rocket, but i dont want to keep this setting incase the engine overheats etc. the minute i turn it under i mean even 1mm the engine slows. i have brocken the car in correctly, adjusting between refuels and only at specified increments.
Any suggestions why, or ways to return it to normal?
Should i restore factory settings and start again, is this ok or will damage it?
Please reply

Hi there M8
I had to rest to Factory settings when my glow plug whent bad and I didnt relise and I had adjusted my settings instead DOH. The only thing I would say is whach out for the mid range needle as whent you rest the LSN it will turn the mid range needle out and mess every thing up (yes thast happened to me and took me nearly a week to get it running nicely again). Just use 2 screw dirvies 1 in mid range to make sure it dose not move while you turn the LSN back in.
Mine is now running very nice well except for the steering arm braking when the caphead screw at the bottom came out DOH. I have found that nearly all the screws have pleanty of locktite on them but you must check them all as 1 or 2 dont have any doh.

cheers
my body work is fine. this engine was still on when i turned it back over i checked it out all was fine. so accelerated off but it sagged. the needle setting were still in place remained there for another tank after resting. by the third i had to lean up the high speed in increment until 1/8 past the 2 1/2 mark til it kicked back in
i then richened it back to normal which again slowed the car and repeated but with the low speed but only to 2 3/4 turns from closed.
no joy here......lol
any suggestions??

Hi there M8
Have you checked of air leaks ?
Also check the cooling head as mine came loose after a while ?
Check your fule lines as well ?
Also could be a air leak on the fule tank filler lid ?

how do you know exactly how fast you were going. do you have one of them venom things?
is it any good and where do you mount it (the box, not the thing that goes on the drive shaft)

yes i have a venom speed meter. i have mounted ontop of the receiver box with a bit of sticky back stuff. its a perfect fit for the extra servo holder you get with the car but the wires becomes a nightmare and you will have to tack them down with something. thats after you cut a hole in the receiver box to enable this placement.
i have checked all the above and have no problems.
Any suggestions on the engine????
