im going to be purchasing anpther car in the near future and i am stuck between a Tmaxx or an X-Terminator... so i have some questions about it
1. is it bash worthy
2. how much ground clearance does it have?
3. is it mostly for racing
4. what are some of the weak parts on it?
ill only be bashing... and doing alot of jumps

I own three nitros currently a 1/10 ST, 1/8 MT and the X-Terminator. She can handle the same jumps I put my savage through, as far as clearance its not right infront of me to give you a precise measurement. I havent broken a thing on it and Ive owed it since early May, the engine even as stock is pretty dependable compared to some others I had to fight with. 1 or 2 pulls and shes roaring, I was going to go with the ofna buggies at first and then I said let me try my chances with this company and Im pleased and I got her for a great price and there are plenty of hop ups. As far as a Tmaxx? I havent seen one on the road just mainly the talk I see in the forums about it, Im thinking about getting one myself to add to the family. So Im not bias to what manufacturers I purchase from, I look at what the product can offer me and how much its going to cost for me to get it in my hands. Sometimes your going to have to sacrifice your happiness for some outdoors fun! Most will tell you to get a MT if you want to bash because the are bulit alittle tougher, I brought my buggie because sometimes you cant run on the streets yet I like speed and the look people get when they see rocks roostertailing towards them[>:] back to my point if you dont know which one.. GET BOTH! good luck

But my point is that by the time you've bought everything you need to run the X, you'd have the PBS running and be able to afford the fuel.

Ok the xteerminator is $300, but dont get it, instead get the ofna ultra comp, its $300 RTR at towerhobbies.com, and in my opinion atlong stronger and better overall.

I got a friend that has an XTM that he is looking to sell, so i wanted to get the options of peeps that might already have one.
For those that are pushing OFNA buggies, you got ANY good arguments as to why not to get an XTM. Like him im not looking to race just bash.
a simple "GET A OFNA" isnt going to do it guys. LEts hear WHY we should get something else.
IE "my buddy had one and.... it did all this crappy stuff" or ya got one when i already had an OFNA and these are what i found to be the big downfalls of the XTM

ofna stands for "oh f***, not again!"
anyway, id go fot the xtm rather than the tmaxx.i have a friend that has a rusty and his receiver and batteries are TAPED to the chassis until the stuff to fix it comes in. the engine in the maxx, once you get it tuned right, will scream, but thats only if you get it tuned good. over here, it doesnt hold a tune worth crap, but the air pressure etc changes quite a bit and often too. go for the xtm

The xtm xterminator is one tough buggy however I'd go with the deluxe over the standard due to the many included hop ups. There is one weak link to the xterminator it is its rear gear case tabs (but with a $7 dollar !QUOT!L!QUOT! alum angle from the home depot, a couple of screws a dremel and 30 minutes- you can make your own gear case brace) Then it is almost bulletproof. You can goto the xtm xterminator forums and search for brace and find many pictures.
I own the pro with the 24.7 pro egine and it rocks also hobby people has excellent customer service. The OFNA ultracomp LX is a cheap buggy (good bang for the buck) but drives decent but the force 26 engine can be a little tricky during break in compared to the xtm engine (I have helped break in both engines) the force runs decent when its broken in though. The xtm 24.7 engine has a good reputation has tons of power (for a rtr) specially low end and is easy to tune and start
If you were going to be racing i might have to lean to the ofna hyper 7 pcr. The stock xtrminator has a lot of on power push in to the corners, that can be somewhat eliminated with suspension tuning though. In the end its the driver. Lets face it J. Tebo driving an axis would beat us with a K3, K777, MBX5 etc all the time.
As for the Tmaxx if you like to do alot of wrench work then go for it it is a time consuming vehicle for maintenance and repair. Don't get me wrong it is the most popular MT around with the savage. You can however almost always find parts somewhere for it.
If you are going to be driving in big rocks or deep grass go with a monster truck but if its regular grass, dirt, gravel, track id go with the buggy ( They are more durable IMO and are easier to drive (well) around a track than the monster trucks and oh yeah nothing on the dirt accelerates like an 1/8 scale buggy.
My 2 cents

Kysi and Yeti,
thank you very much... your replys were very helpful... i would never race... and if i did race i would do it with my electric stadium truck.... and i would be bashing on mostly dirt some cement and short grass... but heres some moer questions
1. how are the factory settings?
2. is the motor easy to tune and break in?
3. does it come with good instructions?
4. can you change the shock setting for just a few mm more of ground clearance?
thanks again

hi, i have an xtm mammoth, which is very similar in design to the xterm. i have to say, i love my truck, its great. now on to your questions...
the factory settings (engine?) are good for break in, but always double check. 3 turns out for both low and high are about right.
the motor is a ***** cat to tune. and it has great power for a rtr car. it is nice!
it has exploded diagrams, but no instructions since its already built. its realyl easy car to work on though
yes, u can change the shock settings easily
