Hi guys and gals,
This is my first post on the forum, so thanks for any help you can give me here.
My wife and I have just become the proud parents of 2 shiny new nitro buggies.
My question is, How do we clean them after a hard day out in the dirt??
There seems to be grit in everything. I have used an air compressor to blow most of the muck away, but there is still heaps of dirt and grit everywhere............
sorry if this is a really dumb question, but I guess if you don't ask I may be overlooking the obvious.
cheers

i blow mine off and if that dont get it use some carb cleaner and then blow it off and some guys use wd40 and then blow it off after all that. but using a air compresser usually gets most of it off. there is a tread on this a few pages down.

You can remove your wheels and clean them with water if need be
dont use water near electronics or you might have to replace them
oil any bearings that get cleaned also

I would only use water on the wheels if i know they are sealed but otherwise i wouldnt because water will get inside the tires and make the wheels unbalanced.

way i clean is this..
Brush off all major stuff... with a brush
Blow off with compressor
take out servos
Coat car with oven cleaner
Sit for 20 to 30
Go over with tooth brush and bottle brush and Jif
Rince under hot water
Blow off with Compressor
Dry with towel
Sit infront of heater till completely dry
Completely spray car with electrical silicone spray
Wipe off excess
Voila should take about an hour
Little trick, put a bead of silicone sealant around the little socket that you attach the horn to, let it dry and put the servo horn back on, will stop about %50 of dust and some moisture getting in..

Thanks everyone for your replies...
We don't have a dishwasher anymore........ we sold it to buy the Cars Hi Hi....
The lawnmower is gone also, and the weedtrimmer has found its new home in a nice little enforcer hull..!!
We recon R/C is much more fun than the drab daily chores around the house..
Thanks again everyone

How I do it,,,
Remove body and wheels
Clean them with "simple green" and water, hold the wheels face up making sure you done get water entering the wheel vent holes. Soak down with the simple green, let sit a few minutes to soak in and then rinse with warm water, set aside or dry with a towel.
Chassis,
I use a air compressor, denatured alcohol and one of these siphoning spray guns, It acts like a mini pressure washer, then make sure to blow the car dry as much as possible and your looking good.
