I haven't run that body or those wheels yet and I sprayed the suspension down with WD40. There are guys at our track that clean theirs up and make it look brand new after every race. I don't know how they do it.

You should get the mugen body or even the new body from sportwerks and paint it that way!! It would look sweet! I try and keep mine clean but I never go to the extent of making her shine. I normally just spray it down with simple green and blow it off with an air hose. It works really well, about once every two months or so I will tear mine down and clean every thing!! I will have parts all over the kitchen counter to the point that I have to start re-assembly in the chair! lol [:@]

Neat! I like the longer engine mounts. They recognize the flexing problem that some of us have been having.
I just finished a longitudinal brace that runs from the rear wing/brace mount up to the front brace mount. Just clears throttle/brake servo arms. Made it out of aluminum angle. Not very pretty but it works! No flex at all!

seems new front and rear lower arms are due end june too

I just drove my Mayhem Pro for the first time yesterday. Highly highly impressed.

I'm waiting for UPS to drop off my Mugen Prospec, and I have to say, the Mayhem will be a hard act to follow.
Almost perfectly balanced right out of the box. The .21 is a nice motor too. Not like my JP M2k or VSpec, but to be included in a kit, it's awesome. Far and away the best buggy deal out there.

Does anyone know if there is a Mayhem forum like the XB8 or Mugen forum?

I milled my frontarms 2mms and use arms all in front (lesser caster)
now it seems I got extraordinary steering but the rear is very loose when giving trottle
so the steering is alright but the rear doesn't follow anymore...

what can I do best to firmen the rear ???
I still use 5/7/1, 40/40 shocks, red optional springs fr/rr , stock antirollbars
3 degrees toe-in rear

heavier springs in front?
heavier oil in the rear ?? (5/7/1)
give only 1mm less caster??
give less toe-out in front (fearly open) ?

Just picked up a Mayhem RTR today and was going to start the breakin process. Checked both needle settings (twice) and it fired right up....once I put a little throttle it would die immediately...played around with the needle settings to no avail...my thoughts would be to increase the idle setting?? Any thoughts or helpful suggestions.

I have read several things on here about people milling the top A-Arms 2-3mm and then shim them up. Could someone post photos or maybe some more detailed instructions? From what I have read I don't know which end to mill on? Thanks for the help.

you mill off in front so the arms can be moved further forward ,
giving less caster
I do it with a blade sharper tool : 2 stone discs turning to sharpen scissors and so on
just hold the arms against it gently and be very carefull or you will mill off to much
and hold it verticaly and horizontaly straight
and get the same amount at each side !
you should calculate +- 10 mm large cut to pass by the towers too

OK guys I think im sold on the meyhem,,But if you guys can further convince me that would be great?Is there problem on getting parts for it,as well as hop-ups..can you guys post some links on where to buy these at?
I plan on buying the RTR version cause It seems like a nice radio that comes with it,But when I buy this buggie,will it be race worthy at the track,casue that 550 is gonna put a lil hurting on my bank account and wont beable to buy hop-ups and stuff for awile.
Is it easy to work on? I had other rc's before and it was a PITA to fix them,,My tmaxx I think is the easiest to work on ever.
And the last thing,I read everywhere that sportwerks dont use thread lock on there screws and they were all falling out,and I read that alot of mayhems were assembled with the wrong clutch in them,is there newer versions where these problems are fixed? Is there a way to tell if you are buying a new or older model? where is the best palce to buy a mayhem at?

I was just at Hobbytown usa saturday,they had 1 and the sticker on the box was 549
The cheapest I seen them on ebay new was for liek 509.00.
469.00 is the rtr version?

c-clips are no problem, if it would be, there would be an upgrade already

mayhem is nicest RTR with good radio but real legal races use .21 motor
nice to work on and robust, no need really for many spare parts

screws are now locktided, just check all and see specialy into those who guard the little rods in between the towers, radiobox screws
and check regulary all , you have to do this with every buggy anyway
better put 16 mm. screws and nyllocks at the steering rack turn points

clutch should be fixed now, if not, you just have to buy black mugen shoes or the new metal ones of mayhem, springs are ok
you even get free new ones if you notice Horizon you got bad ones

are the c-clips tough on the hinge pins? can you reuse the c-clips or do you have to have new ones? i was asking about the threaded hinge pins because i dont like c-clips. would the mugen upgrade work on the mayhem ( threaded hinge pins with ny-lock nuts)? tim

I have no Idea about the upgrade,But I have clipse on my RC'S and never have a problem with them,I just wear safty glasses when putting them on they tend to shoot off if you dont get it just right.

I am a Mayhem owner as of today. Hurrah!
I will be going over the buggy tomorrow, installing new universal switch to use with charger and nimh batteries. I heard some people tell of installing longer screws in some of the locations and using nylon nuts to secure. Please clue me in and what you have done to buggy to make it run on track better.

I just never had problems with those c-clips on the mayhem
they are real tight fit and don't get off, they don't move on the suspensionpins either
there just there to secure
they don't cost a fortune if you want to put new ones to be sure
I don't know any conversion that would work....

you can easly convert to scews holding the pins, make a hole for a small screw besides the pins
