My son got a duratrax evander for Christmas. Started right up and almost through the first tank of fuel when he crashed into a curb. Everything looked fine with no visable damage.
BUT, now the back wheels will not move even at fuel throttle. The engine runs fine. If I turn one of the back wheels the other one moves in the opposite direction!
Can anyone help?

You must be new to RC in general...As for the wheels..they are supposed to turn the opposite direction when off the ground, it's called the "differential action" or "non-positive track". 99% of the real cars are the same way. If it doesn't pull, check the spur and pinion gears and the clutch engagment.

if its just the back wheels not turning, I think maybe the little grub screw that holds the drive cup to the rear pinion is probably loose, but im not sure, I dont even know what the evander looks like....
is it named after evander holyfield...?[:-]

Sounds like the drive from the centre diff to the rear diff is disrupted...
Could be loose grub screw on the input drive cup, broken dogbone or least likely stripped bevel gear
Check each in turn...
If you turn both wheels does the centre diff spin??

you should seriously read the manual... the car is supposed to be broken in first before driving...
also, post this in the staduim track section...
and its a Duratrax EVADER! NOT EVANDER....
as for the problem, check the spur (big gear that engine is connected to) or clutch bell (other gear on engine). If they rotate fine, check the tranny.
(note: things in parentheses are for the rc illiterate.)

I have looked a little deeper into the problem. Looks like a lot of smoke (heat?) coming from the clutch bell. In addition very little rpm's coming from this gear.
Regarding breaking in the engine, we did read the instructions and they recommend running the car on asphalt at moderate speeds. My son was doing this under my supervision. Just thought I would clear the record.
Thanks for all that have been trying to help.

The spur gear is wasted...next will be the steering servo horn...then another spur gear...by then the engine will be toast too.
Duratrax Evader= cheap 1/10 ST...stock up on spares and put customer service on speed dial.
