Default Tiers and upper arm

Hi gentlemen

I will race with 1/8 buggy on road, unfortunately, I don't have on- road tires for the time being …. Can I temporally use the tires in the attached picture on- road until buying on-road tiers to it will perform too bad

Please…Another question… I minimized the distance between chassis and ground to get maximum stability …. Then Should I leave the upper arms angled for the front and back with lower arm or I should adjusted to be parallel to the lower arm. Also what other adjustment should be done after down the chassis… I already fixed hard springs and filled the shocks with 500 silicon oil.

Thanks in advance for any advise

that tread is more for hard packed dirt...it will kill th etread but you can run them on road if you don't mind trashing a set of tires.......the upper arms shouldn't pull the tops of the wheels in too much.....that's you rcamber adjustment, sounds like you need to visit a setup board (see if a local person has one) and redo your allignment settings.....you're ready to learn about chassis tuning........congrats that's like moving up a notch in RCs...LOL....seriously I recommend .....[link=http://www.southeastrc.com/Items/StdItemView.aspx?lookup=MANDVD02]"The Ultimate nitro tuning guide"[/link] to every new person that starts to get serious in th ehobby....it will answer in great detail 99% of the questions you have dealing w/ Nitro RCs

you need to clarify what you are asking about on the upper arms.....if you can get a good pic of them as you look from the front adn top it could help alot......seriously the book I recomended will have all these and more answers to questions you don't even know about yet....yes it's another cost, but it really did make alot of things clear to me when I read it.....

Thanks mgtman and plaidfish,

I ordered tiers exactly the same in your picture mgtman but unfortunately they will arrive next Monday or Tuesday (i.e after the race) that why I'm forcing to use tiers in hand... I think the tires in the picture in the close to be use on-road, the rest I have are, large block, medium pin, ultra , excel and blazer ( with large which can be used with truck and small rim which can be use with buggy) ... Do you think Blazer can be used on road. please have a look at http://www.ofna.com/tires-stock2.html and advise me.

I will send picture of my buggy tomorrow and I will order the book next month and as soon as I arrive to Canada since now I'm working in Paris

Thanks

when changing offroad buggy to a onroad car, do you need to straigthen the chassis since the front kick up is only for offroad car.. does it make any different on handling..

Not worth the bother....If you want a real on road racer you'd save a lot of troubes by buying another RC if that's an issue.....

Gentelmen,

Sorry, my result was very very bad, I lost in the track, my buggy was very fast after tune it with helping of persons on RC universe but she was out of control.... far from the tires which I changed them several times using all tires available in hands, she made crazy steering problems and sometimes spin or flip on side in turns...the race was on asphalt where the track was small and with lot of turns ( they name it technical track) ...... I used 500 silicon oil in shocks , yellow spring , down the chassis I moved the front and rear upper arms up to be parallel to the lower arms , I angled the shocks as much as I can and I replaced ORIGINAL front shock tower with shorter one, shorter shock and springs, front upper arm and lower arm and wheel hubs, I fixed everything on ofina flat chassis as Mr. ARGHH mentioned ( in France ofina are not existing but they have typical cars named Hong Nor) ... now I don't know what moved wrong although I change half of the car

I saw racers used tires mentioned by Mr. mgtman with white spring, I don't know if this white springs specially for on road or I can keep the yellow springs or change it by Red springs which I'm already have.

I got wonder since there was special race for monster truck named Savage and Revo, although trucks was much higher than my buggy they handled better ( they are using large flat on road tires).... I believe the problem in the my setup... Can any one help me by advising the best setup for buggy to race in short asphalt track.

I post some pictures for how my buggy looks like

Thanks in advance for anyone support

try moving both the front and the back shocks to the lower outside hole on top of shock towers, might give you a little less travel and make it a little stiffer when when coming into the corners or turning also depending on what diffs you have maybe try tunning your diff oils is it sliiping away in the back like spinning out?
