RE: Official Hyper 8 Thread
For those of you who have the 8.5, are you running the new clutch setup or the hyper 8 clutch setup? Will doing so stress the light weight dogbones?
Here's the link for the springs.

RE: Official Hyper 8 Thread
I am also looking for more info on the spider diff. after checking other forums and talking with Rob from Nitrohouse here is what I have been told. The spiders are for high grip surfaces, mostly European tracks. They have less diff action then standard diffs therfore you need to use lower wt.diff fluid. With extra gears they have more natural friction and when used in the center will drive the rear harder. This make sense because the higher the diff fluid in the center the more you drive the the rear. You need to use about half the diff wt i.e. if you usually use 5k fluid standard with spiders use 2-3K. With a center spider diff I am thinking the correct set-up maybe 3kF 2kc 2kR!!
I am curious, if you take out two of the gears then what happens...alot of expermenting coming up if I get thte time.
I have not run a spider on the track yet, maybe this weekend. I noticed they are heavier but have not put on the scale yet.

Well I'm saving up a little to go race the National Races at Guadalajara, Mexico on the 27 and 28th of this month, there are just a few great racers out there so I think I'll have a chance to make it to the A Main. I'll show my home country mates the power of HoBao
Hey 46u you that have had a lot of experience with the Hyper, what extra parts do you suggest to have? right now I have all 4 A-Arms and 2 upper links. I was thinking bidding on some center shafts, get at least 1 complete differential (f/r) and a couple of pinion gears, what else you think I may need for extra parts?

I have well over 8 gallons and I have broken very few parts but you never know. But I do keep just about enough parts to build another buggy in my pit boxes. The things I recommend to keep on hand the most are shock shafts, shock plus seal kit, bearings, wing and plenty of tires. I am sure I am overlooking something but is all I can think of at the moment.

Good place to buy bearings at 90 cents each for standard bearings.

You have to buy them in packs of 10 but the way I go through them you never have to many. I replace mine went they start feeling rough. I know you can clean and oil but at 90 cents each I rather replace them.

yeah my LHS sells them a dollar a piece so I guess i'll just pick them up. Now that you mention that website, I'm awaiting an order from them, a set of Advantage 1/8 Wheels. They have great prices.

zJatoRad, make sure you get back to use on the Advantage wheels as they are cheap, look good, and was wondering about durability, Thanks.

zJatoRad, I would get an extra wing mount too. Ive somehow manged to screw mine over so if you dont want to risk running with a crooked wing I would pick one of those up. I got an extra one for a few bucks on ebay. I havent broken anything else except my clutch b/c I was running worn out clutch bell bearings, so +1 on getting some spare bearings.

whats the benefit of spider diffs? i have all 3 and wondering what would be different if they were standard.

The yhave more internal gears so they are less stressed and the allot body on them is a hell of a lot better than the stock plastic trash on all other buggies.

dabro15 did you do the rear wing mount up grade recommend on Nitro House web site? So far in well over 8 gallons I have never had a wing mount problem or any problems with the stock differentials on my Hyper 8 pro. But I do have plenty of spares just in case.

Thanks that wasnt what broke on my old one. What happened to it was I landed a jump bad them my rear shock popped off and slammed into the wing mount causing it to bend. I will do that upgrade you suggested though.

RE: Official Hyper 8 Thread
the company took 9 days to ship the wheels, I emailed them up and they're going to refund my shipping costs because of the delay, I received the package today though, they're the Advantage Multi-Spoke Wheels in Black, they look really strong, now I just gotta get a set of tires, was looking at the Losi XBT tires, I think they could hook up great at my track.
