hey i just ordered my s3 and i had a few question. my friend has said there is problems with s3 chass and diff houseing, he said the bolts keep comeing out of the bottom of the chassis to hold the diff on has anyone had that problem?

I've had mine for well over a year now... never had any problems. If you got the new kit, I understand it comes with both the tunnel chassis and the new flat chassis. Perhaps your friend is overtightening the dif case and stripping them out? I love the S3, its a great and underrated buggy. Easy to work on, tweak and drive. Parts are easy to come by, when/if I actually manage to break something. The only thing I don't like is that the bodies do not fit the extended chassis very well.

I have had my S3 for over a year and have alot of the option parts, most in black, not red. I also have the new long flat chassis. I do think it is the best 1/8 buggy. alot of my friends have all different types of 1/8 scale, and I dont see anything with the tunability of the S3, the flat chassis for rough tracks,a nd the extruded chassis for when I race smooth clay or indoors, very sweet. goo dluck with your new buggy.

no problem... good luck with it.. use a 12t or 13t clutch bell. in my experiences, my RB WS7 tends to be a top end motor. dropping to a 12t gives a good amount of bottom end, and the RB will be really sluggish til it breaks in which takes about a gallon. after that she screams like a monster. I have tons of power, and great top end. if you need any help or have a question, just pm me.
good luck..
good luck..

I was going to ask... how is the stock EB4 S3? If I was to stick a Novarossi .21 in it can it run at A main level? Tossing up between a Hyper 8 and a EB4 S3, the EB4 is $50 cheaper and seems to have more ajustments but the Hyper 8 looks more 'ready to race' out of the box.

The S3 is VERY tunable out of the box, especially when I hear the new kits have the original rigid chassis, and the new flat chassis. Most of the upgrades I have are just aluminum versions of the plastic pieces. Alot of the stock steel parts can be replaced with lightweight aluminum. As for a main, if you can tune it to hook up on the track and be able to drive a-main level, then i am confident it will get you there. the only upgrade that is a big improvement is shocktowers, giving alot of adjustments, the rest is not 100% needed. if the track is smooth, use the rigid chassis, if rough and bumpy, use the flat chassis.

Saxton is always a danger to podium in whatever race he runs. If you are a good driver, the TTR can help make it happen for you. Its a great buggy, highly underrated, and the kit goes together well. Of course, driver skills play about 80% into whether you make the A-main or not. But if you don't make the A main it wont be the buggies fault. Its solid.

Yeah i agree people underestimate the TTR.
I used to drive a 777, but the S3 fits my driving style alot better and mine has been holding up great.

I have had my EB4 S3 for about a year now. I have not had any problems with it. I think it is very under rated and it is a fun buggy to drive.
here is a pic of mine from when I first got it...

how it went... well, she ran great, and i need to re-emphasize how awesome the long chassis is...
unfortunately, I blew my WS7. 1 1/2 gallons of byrons 30% and done. it was a brand new engine. when she ran she ripped up the track, clearing the doubles, triples, and the table top with ease... the long chassis makes the car 200% more stable in the rough off road tracks. The track was a mix of sand, and wet dirt. I dialed her in, and slapped on a set of crime fighters in all four corners and she ran like on rails. Only problem was that as the RB heated up, it would not stay running. The compression is practically gone.
Should I get another RB, or maybe a V-Spec or something else...

sounds to me like you got some dirt in the engine somehow and it polished the piston till it finally wore the sleeve happened to me awhile back. if the engine is just out of pinch you could buy a new piston/sleeve/rod combo kit from amainhobbies for 169.00 and mabey a new bearing if needed and just rebuild it. when my p-5 blew up i just replaced the piston/sleeve/rod with a 7 port conversion kit for it and it screamed. but some people dont think a mill is worth rebuilding for near 200.00 on high end engines when you can get a new one for around 300.00. but if you just whant a new mill check out radical engines at amainhobbies thease mills are super fast and run all day at 195-200 deg. and they are under 300.00 or axe motorrossi just came out with the cobra its alittle over 300.00 but i heard they are screamers to. hey did that long wheelbase chassis take away any steering? i have a used ttr on the way from ebay and i have a standard wheel base flat chassis for it plus about 400.00 in red goodies just sitting around

Im tossing around the idea of the Axe Rossi Cobra .21, a Hot Mod Rossi P5X, a V-Spec, and a RB WS7III.
I would like to find more info about Axe, but I cant find anything.
As for the chassis, it is a NOTICEABLE difference between the stock rigid chassis, and the flat. I had alot of difficulty dialing in on one track which had a really bumpy back straight, and with the long chassis I was able to open up down that straight for the first time.
I have noticed no loss of steering, in fact, compared to a few buddies cars, and the hobby shop guy at one of the local tracks, I have awesome responsive steering for a 1/8 4wd. If youre interested, I can pm you my setup. It would be a great start for an agressive, multi-terrain, short and fast track...
I have the "option" parts, but most of mine are black, not red...
good luck with it, its a great buggy.

I made the decision, went with another RB motor, WS7III. My WS7 was very impressive, and I want to continue the performance I have. I may order the HotMod P5X later...
Also, my motor died from heat. I had an issue with it for a while, and it was always over 300*, turns out thats what did her in...

After 3 days, I finally got the WS7III to start up. The problem I have is a combination of high compression, a small stock TTR flywheel, and a VERY thick flat chassis...
...any input to fix the latter 2 issues would be much appreciated. I am going to attempt to recalibrate my bump box tonight and see if I can raise the wheel up...

LOL im having the same issues with starting mine with my new flat chassis i have the team magic starter box im thinking of going to either a mugen flywheel/clucth or a firioni turbo slider thease flywheels are larger in diamater and wont stick through the bottom of the chassis. and yes the new flat chassis is very thick and kinda heavy. the only time on the track it feels heavy is when im air born. but on the ground its super stable and turns very well ive got a killer set up on mine right now!!!

Time to get out the dremmel. I ground out the hole a bit wider and longer to be able to get the wheel to the stock flywheel. I was too impatient to get the new flat chassis on the track to wait for a new flywheel!
