Hi Guys...............here's a couple of pics of my new TQ SPort "Black" edition as promised.................will not look this clean for long!

Under the bodyshell.........I love the polished pipe and the 3 port race motor should give enough power for some fun bmx track bashing!

Fitted a clear chassis protection sheet to the underside alloy/anodised chassis plate to help keep scratches and scuff marks at bay..........

I have only run 3 tanks through it up to now so I will be running another 5-6 tanks through before tuning for full power after break in.
After some initial set up problems and a few bolts that needed to be tightened it was pretty much RTR.
Throttle and brake linkages were poorly set up from the factory and had to have some major adjustment and tweaking to get right.
I also found that you need to check ALL nuts and bolts including engine as some of mine were not that tight from the factory, especially one of the wheel nuts....hand tight!
First engine start was a pig to get running as the motor was so tight - used the hair dryer method in the end and it worked a treat.
Hopefully get the rest of my motor break in done this coming week....fingers crossed........if not, definately next weekend.
Have fun!

What is wrong with the box? Saying its messed up really doesnt help, it could be something simple and you will be on your way.
If you want a pull-start (box starter is sooo much better and easier but each to their own i guess) you will need to buy a pull-start kit from somewhere. Your looking at about $40 just for that, which imo is a lot when you could just fix your box starter.

my pull start box is working fine its not grabbing the teeth on the flywheel and i used my friends box and it worked fine i want to have a pull start its easier and not so much of a hassle. so where can i get a conversion kit for it or what specific parts do i need to get it from the box to pull start. i know my backing plate goes inside the engine a little bit so i don't know if i need a extension or something
i'm new at this stuff

I have been looking to find this thread for a while. I can't believe no one has posted in it for almost a year!! I know the hyper 7 is a bit older but it still seem to be quite popular and is a great platform.I have had 3 of them now I'm down to just 1.
here are a couple of mine.

Bumping an old thread! Just picked up my Hyper 7 on a trade (RC18T) roller which I converted to BL using the RC Monster motor mount, Castle MMM/2200, running a 4s lipo. Anyone know if the "pro" bodys that come clear are already trimmed? I'm trying to find a decent body that doesnt have all the nitro holes cut in it. So far the buggy is really durable! Nothing broken through 3-4 packs of bashing around.
Also does anyone know the hierarchy for the springs? I currently have the BLACK springs on all around but I think I need to move to slightly firmer in the front but cant find any spring rates/compression. Thanks!
