Default tdc pinch issues, please help.

i started breaking in my GO 21. 7p yesterday and found that it has a serious pinch at tdc. it has about 5 tanks through it so far and the pinch is still there. it has reduced a bit but i still have to keep prising it away from tdc sometimes when it stops. is there any way to remove the pinch or should i just keep breaking it in and be patient?

cheers

STS engines all so have a LOT of pinch. First pre heat the engine with a heat gun makes starting easier. Then when cooling makes sure you put the piston at BDC. On STS engines I do not even begin to tune for performance till at least a gallon. Be patient! Go engines and parts are getting real hard to find in the US.

I would not worry about looking for shavings as you have all ready run it and as rich as we break in these engines it should have flushed anything out by now. I race with several guys that run Go engines but they are having trouble finding parts and engines now.

that sucks cause theyre really nice engines. theres a guy at my track who stocks go engines and theyre all he runs. so i can get parts pretty easily.

tell them to try amain hobbies, they have some of the parts for 21. 7 and 5 port models.
and microtech racing sell the .21's and a racing 28 and 25

To lessen the pinch atr TDC start engine run extremely rich at full thottle never exceding 140 F for 10 tanks then cool motor at TDC. Repeat process 2 times. If done corectly you should have minal pinch if any. If motor is still not to your liking lean out the motor as much as possible cover cooling head with a sock preferably crew or in a pinch a foam dixie cup will do then procede to hold the throttle wide open until motor reaches desired level of performance.
Hope this helps.

well considering having pinch is good removing any pinch at all would be bad. i have a brand new sts d21t mkii and you have never seen this much pinch pre-breakin my losi flywheel didn't have enough surface area to grab on when heated up with a heat gun. used my hpi flywheel and all was well. used that flywheel for 4 slow tanks and losi flywheel after heat works everytime to answer the main guys question just run it rich and always let your motor cool at bdc it will loosen up as time goes on and invest in a good heat gun that always helps

he was just offering advice on how to quickly remove the "pinch" a.k.a. the "life" from an engine. Those were all great methods.

Ok, Educate me please:

Need to know what the Ackronoyms "TDC and BDC" Represent? Something that I have NEVER done is work on my engine. It loses compression or what have you when stuff goes wrong, I end up replacing it.

Yes..I know. I"m pissing money way. I'd love to get the 411 on engine repair and maintenance. It'd be helpful. (or at least a source where I can be educated further about engine care and maintenance)

Thanks!

tdc and bdc are top dead centre, and bottom dead centre, it is telling you the position of the piston in its travel in other words tdc is the higest the piston goes and bdc is the lowest it goes.

you dont have to remove the glow plug to find bdc btw. just rotate the fly wheel with your finger in one direction until you feelresistance, then go the other way until you feel resistance again then come back halfway and youre at bdc.
