Default Blue Chasis vs Pro Chasis

I have had the same experience with the blue chasis regarding suspension mounting holes tearing or wearing out.

I went through two and then upgraded to Pro. Since then no problem.

The Pro chasis is not cheap but it's worth the investment.
Also, replece the stock suspension mount screws with longer ones. Place a 4mm lock-nut on the other side and you will not have to worry about continually tightening your suspension mount blocks.

I just use lock tight for my pro. It seemed to solve the problem. But then the screw head snapped off. I had to use a pliers to get the rest of the screw out. I think that I'm gonna go to ACE Hardware and find some stainless screws to put in there. The same thing has happened to some friends that have OFNA 9.5's also.

If the pin backs out while running, it is causing excessive strain on the hole on pin is still in. This can cause the CVD to break. You need to disassemble and reassemble them (with quality thread locker) prior to use. I've done this with both my storm pros (after one of my CVD pins came out) and haven't experienced any problems since.

i think i have the most durable storm ever made, its taken a few trips tumblin thru the yard, and i mean tumblin, and nothing has broken yet. not trying to jinx myself or anything but still, just like to brag on it a little bit. and of course the thing flies so these are no low speed tumbles. just like to say my D size glow plug ignitor sucks (broke the first day i started up my storm)

anyone know where i might be able to find a nice 10th scale or 8th scale starter car for my cousin. i mean i'm not looking for just a basher, something that he can have fun and get into some races with but a used one that he can get for fairly cheap with everything he needs minus the radio which he already has. if anyone has one let me know. and yes i know about the for sale and want ads and the swap shop or whatever. just asking to see if you guys or your buddies might have anything. lmk if so you can email me at [email protected]
thanks

MY STORM HAS HELP UP VERY WELL

i am always rough on my cars, and my storm is no different.
i like to jump, and ive had 2 huge cart wheel tumbles. during both of those monster cartwheels i didnt break a single thing.
i mean i was running 3/4 throttle to this jump hit it wrong twice and went of the side and cartwheeled my way to a stop.
very sturdy.

Mines the same way, very sturdy. Just broke 1 suspen arm, and rear hub. Both my fault, flew into the metal pipe at the track, then i had to dodge my lil bros tyco and hit the crub. I cartwheel all the time and jump all the time. i belive the big wheels have to do with the car not breaking. OH im also in X-tream RC, My little letter got publised.

i dont
maybe its like tweet said if the pin backs out it will break. you have those small o-rings in place right? just a thought, but an important part.
as far as other cvds fitting, just look to see what size they are and im sure any other brand will fit. i dont have my manual handy, but cjeck to see if it says "XX"mm, and try them from someone else.
if it doesnt fit you can always just hock em on ebay.

also look on ebay for the Storm cvds. I just recently sold the complete fronts...new cvds, knuckles, bearings, hub carries, collars for $40.....ive seen storm cvds end for less than $40 brand new.

The MIP axles on my Mugen havent broke yet. I bought two complete sets and now think the money could have been better on something that does break.....Make sure the set screws are locktightened with blue locktight, or they will fall apart.

I use KO Mars and Mars R radios.

Personally, I try to use the same model receiver that comes with my radio. If one isn't available, I go with novak.

Pack, right now i just want the graphite upper support plate, the graphite radio tray, the pro torque rods, and the alum rear torque rod holder. Later on, ill get the pro chassie when my i need a new one, which may be soon!
Yeah im thinking of gettinf a new radio. Right now i have the JR Xr2, but i either want the xr2i or the xr3i. What would a 3rd channal do in the storm, nothing. IT just has more memory right.
Oh and pack do you race, if so how you doing.

Oh one more thing, my car has a hard time getting up. Is it just because im still running with my broken reciver and not getting a quick signal. Or is it my motor, which seems fine, or cuz it still wasnt warm. After i get my car running perfectly ill let you know. if having other problems.
