yes gergle, it would most likely be old carpet on the jumps. Helps the jump to keep its shape with the kind of sand we're forced to use out here.

RE: Dubai - RC Events
Hey Guys,
I think this may be my first post here, but i have been watchin the discussions over the last year or so.
As i am sure some of you are aware of the site [link=http://www.dubdrift.com]www.dubdrift.com[/link] which was originally set up to support rc drifting and some mini racing in Dubai.
The site and member base has grown significantly over the last few months to almost 150 members and over the last few months the site has expanded to accommodate a much broader range of RC enthusiasts including onroad gt racing, offroaders racing nitro and electric, and rock crawling.
Some of the guys are already members namely Mister E, Carthuga, Vinesh, Gergle to name a few....so they should be familiar with the recent changes.
So basically this is an invitation to you guys to sign up and join the dubdrift forum, I think the dubdrift forum will also give you guys much more freedom in setting up various threads and topics instead of discussing everything under one thread here.
I know you guys tried to set up a dedicated forum last year sometime, but that never really got up and running...
Our intentions at dubdrift.com are to try bring the rc community a little closer together, so we would really appreciate it if you guys would decide to join [link=http://www.dubdrift.com]www.dubdrift.com[/link], or at least come and check it out.
Heres a quick link to the GP (gas/nitro power) section [link=http://www.dubdrift.com/gp-general-forums-c8/]GP Topics[/link]
look forward to seeing you guys on dubdrift
Cheers
Paul

RE: Dubai - RC Events
I have now decided that i need to order from usa. But ive got a couple of questions...
1. Do I need to pay anything extra except the shippping and the car it self?
2. How long will it take?
3. What shops can you recommend?
4. Does it come outside my door? (I live in an appartment in the marina)
Or does anyone know if there is any shop (or person) in Dubai that sell a Tamiya Lunch box?

1. depending on order value you may pay import duty, but under about 500 dhs I think no duty.

Hi Mohammad_7! I'm planning to organize a race this 26th of March. Perhaps we will call it Smart Hobbies
re-instated race track inaugural race. Still have to discuss this subject with the shop owner since we are planning to invite the media here. Hoping it will materialize. I'll keep you guys posted.

Anyone know where Hobby Centre moved to? I went past there yesterday to get some fuel but it seems they have moved. I didn't stop as there was no place to park but was hoping someone on here will know where they moved to.
Thanks

Yup....they've moved to the building next door. Gold colored, sign on the front says Marine Point (?) or something like that. Same building as that one, just at the backside.
04 - 294 - 6647 is their new number.
