You could also try Hobby Home near the Ramada Hotel on Ittiad road. They sell Traxxas products.

My trusted buggy doesn't break either, because it has been transformed in to a shelf queen now.

Guys, let's break some part and build the track!!!

I have been to Hobby Home, they only sell parts for traxxas nitro models same with Hobbies zone. I have a Traxxas Slash that I would like to buy some upgrades for. But it seems like there is no hs in Dubai that sell hop- ups etc... So does anyone know if there's like a shop close or within the UAE that sell Traxxas Slash parts?

Gentlemen,

Our track here in Auh is almost finished. All we have to do is paint the barriers and peg to the ground and cover the remaining triple jump with a carpet. We'll try to finish it within this week so we can have some fun this coming friday.

Those with 1/8 buggies and truggies are welcome to play here anyday. But since the area is in a secured location, aside from the fact that we have invested money (aside from our muscles - ) on the
re-instatement of this track, those who plan to use it has to register first to the hobby shop who operates the track and has to pay a minimal amount for entrance. The shop is just beside the track. No one is excuse from the entrance fee. Even guys from our group who invested money, we have to pay a minimal amout. Sorry about this gents! But i'm sure you are aware that this is the normal practice even in other countries. Otherwise, where will we get the funding to maintain this track.

I just want to share with you some pictures of the track which I took last night after we have completed the laying out of lane barries and making of jumps.

Anyone who wish to come and play here are welcome!

Cheers!

Joydude,

Picked it up during a trip back to the States. I'm running to 4800 nimh packs in it.

Get one off Amain and run a 12 v gel cell. It'll work fine with that here.

June....congrats to you and all the guys in AUH for the new track. Think we'll have to make a trip to see you guys here real soon. What brands does the LHS next to the track carry?

Thanks Greg! Dubai guys are welcome anytime! I'll just up-date you once we have completed the remaining work. We are targeting to finish the track this week so we can test it this coming Friday.

For the lane barriers, we used old 3" and 4" mooring ropes which we asked from our company since they are no longer usefull for our vessels and are considered as scrap.

I'm again sharing more pictures which I took today right after work.

Greg, the LHS sells hobao, hot bodies and i believe they will also try hongnor. They also sell sidewinder fuels and baja's.

Hey Jun, that sounds great!! Glad you guys in AUH fixed your track up. Unfortunately I won't be able to make it since my ride has a new unbroken-in engine, and getting it broken in by tomorrow morning isn't gonna happen ...maybe next race...but thanks for the invite, appreciate it bro & good luck!

On a related note, anyone know whatever happened to the Automodex?? Is there still an R/C race going on for nitro & electric & onroad & offroad??
If so, can we register and how?

Last...since I haven't fired up a nitro car since March 13th (yeah that's right, a whole year!!) I was actually thinking of selling my buggy...I got a brand new Losi 1.0 (unused!) sitting as a shelf queen for a year, but I still haven't made up my mind...I love nitro but lack of a track and events over the past year has really drawn me away from the whole scene...we'll see...

I also have a Kyosho Inferno US Sports used for a season with lot's of spares that I would sell (it is compatible with the inferno 7.5), and possibly with an OS28XZ (absolute beast!) that has 3/4 galons on it. If anyone's interested then PM me.

Cheers everyone

Rocknro. Wait for it bro. We're working on getting the Lisayli track up and running.

I'm currently trying to collect all the promised donations to get the track built....(yes please Gents).....

One of the ideas we're working on is using old mooring lines from the ports as lane barriers. If you happen to have any contacts.....give it a go. They usually throw those things away. I'll organize transport for it.

The track is laid out...needs some minor changes....the driver stand is there....the bleachers are there....it won't take much....

Guys, if you're not receiving my emails....please let me know.

I can't do this alone.

Thanks

RNR.....let's talk about the kyosho....

rockinro,
Yes the Automodex event is still on, but due to lack of registrations and expense, the off-road categories have been canceled. The nitro and electric on-road are still on!
You can register at http://www.automodex.com/rc.php
I'm not sure if the website is up to date, but the latest rules and classes are detailed here http://www.dubdrift.com/event-sessio...tions-t942.htm

Join up and help make the event a success.......

Congrats to the Abu Dhabi guys getting your track sorted. I like the use of the rope and (is it) carpet on the jumps?
