@Tommygun32 Nice meeting you today at the track. Thanks to you and (i don't know their name/nicknames) the 2 guys with you for the tips on driving!

I checked on Facebook and there are 3 pages relating to RC Dubai (Drift, Planes and a fan club).
If you guys plan on doing a page, i can help... i already handle various pages for work and leisure so i don't mind at all.
I also think it will be easier to communicate and share pics and stuff on Facebook (my 2 cents).

In anycase, looking forward to see you guys again soon and practive my jumping ^_^

Dear All,

I am so pleased to have bumped into this thread.

I have been a keen RC racer from the young age of 10. I moved from South Africa to dubai and essentailly hung up my RC control for work and new life commitments as life in SA has ended for me.

I started missing my old hobby. In my recent trip to SA, i brought back all my Futaba M2 and lipo electrics in thinking of starting a little mind saving hobby. Office is a killer in this country.

I have competed accross the globe in RC Pro Series in the states and many international events inTexas and the like, with a specialliking in 1/8th scale nitro. I hvae built tracks, hosted National Events, configured software, Hosted International RC Pro Series andwas the main commentator for all events countrywide,in a track that we set up (www.avoinrcx.co.za) which is still running strong. And i am keen as hell to start again.

I watched your videos, and i am so pleased to see a keen following. its thursday evening the 13th at around 9pm. Are you meeting tomorrow the 14th of Jan? The ned al Sheba address? text me call me1800-SEEYOUTHERE will come see what its about.

Seeing the input from all the keen players here is great. I am buying a car now.

Is there decent fuel available? where do you get it from? i thought this would be the hardest to find.

I dont Switch pc off, so will leave it on this page in hope for a reply.

BR

Hi StareDanger and welcome back...

Will try and be at the track tomorrow (Friday) morning and possibly Saturday afternoon.

I would recommend that you remove your mobile number from your post....that's an invitation to trouble.

Just click on the "edit" button and you'll be able to do that.

If you want to communicate personally, just click on the "PM" button..

Hope to see you tomorrow buet.

Will buy some kits now.

RTR beyond me so will look at race roller Losi i think with all the spares i can think of. RB Concept .28 and starter box.

Amazing what you need to rebuy once you leave everything behind.

I have some good ideas on track surface that should be easy enough for us to try.

especially in this country.

Loose sand + used cooking oil.

Compacted into surface. now havent tried this with desert sand so we might need to get a test run.

engine oil ok too. think we can these easily here.

that 28 is lame , tricky to tune, and outdated design! I would suggest looking into something else ! if you insist on a 28 then a OS 28... However the best big Truggy engine is the OS 25...it has piles more RPM then the 28's do

Jokes aside, Mac Donalds chip oil is the best.

when we compacted the sand on previous track before race day, the track was shiny, and had very good grip.

its also common practice for oils to be used as agents to prevent soil erosion. this is the effect we looking for.

This is my 2 cents of thoughts

I think that oil in the sand could lead to a environment danger to other animals that walk on the track when we are not there like the Camels and other creatures. We are in the middle of the Desert and grate care should be taken when we make any changes on the track or surface. What will happen when its summer and the surface reachers 60+ what will the cars and the bottom of our shoes look like ? There are other ways that we are working on at the moment to soften the landing zones and better grip on the turns.

If you guys come to the track this Friday 1pm you will see some new changes that we have in mind and could work out.

Hope to see you there.

Hi Guys

Regarding the camels (and others) entering the compound-bumped into one of the jet boys about a month or so ago whilst bashing at the track,
he asked me to close the gate to stop our 4 legged friends wandering around and made the comment that soon there will be a
combination lock on the gate to stop our unwelcome 2 legged friends racing their big 4 wheeled vehicles on the runway etc.

Do we have any contact with the fly boys committee on this regard ?

Uhhmmm...not at the moment, but I can forward your query to the concerened party.

When we leave in the evening and we are the last ones through the gate, we close it and wrap the chain to make it look like it's locked.....trying to keep honest people honest....[:-]

Some of the other guys have witnessed some serious stupidity on the runway....[:@]

We're thinking of getting out for about 1pm or so. It would be GREAT to see as many people as possible doing some fun drive/bashing...
