Ok well i have a V spec and it hasnt been used very much built the car less than a year ago and been so busy havent got to drive it much at all did the break in and stuff and it just sat after that....well about a month ago it was still pretty hot here (in the 90-100F range) and it was running a bit warm so i put the spacer shim in the head to see if that helped...not really still hot has hell so i just put it away till today. got it out it fired right up i drove it around for a bit was running really rich on top so i started to tune it for the cooler weather and as soon as i started messing with it, it wouldnt run at all it would sit and idle just fine but you take off and get in the throttle it just bogs and dies...went and got the book that came with the engine set everything back to their "safe settings" or whatever it was called still running like a turd...i mean before i started to tune the highside it was running ok just for a top end spit...im trying to sell it and if someone comes to look at it and it falls on its face right away its not gonna do me alot of good i messed with it today for quite some time...im no noob at tuning them i just cant seem to get this one to cooperate with me at all for some reason. any suggestions?

The air leak is something you must look, sure.
Because of leaving your car sittin for a long time, you should let it run for 5-10 minutes i say, so the engine, the fuel lines and the carb come to their senses. That's what i do after a long period. Well, because you mess the mixtures for good as i read, put the factory settings again (i think it's 3 turns from closed for the HSN, and flat poosition for the other 2 needles). Now, try lean the HSN first a quarter at a time. Because your engine will be hard to stay at idle because of the too rich mixture, have some throttle so you keep the engine running. Don't mess with the LSN, first set the HSN and try to accelerate SLOWLY each time untill you find the optimum setting. Then, tune the LSN. If you read the manual, you will see that most of this stuff i am telling you is in there, but i'm not talking as a reader but as an experienced man with Vspecs. Good luck with that

it ran for quite some time at the settings i left it on when the weather was still warm it was just a pretty rich on the top end no low end bog just a top end spit...so i tried to tune that out of it and i turned the HSN about 1/8 of a turn and it fell on its face...im guessing that maybe it had some trash in the carb and it came loose when i turned the HSN so when i get time im gonna take it apart clean it really good and put new fuel lines on it and see if that helps....as for tuning for cold weather i would turn the HSN to a richer setting since the cooler air is more dense drawing in more o2...but it was rich to begin with...before it was always fairly easy to tune. but im gonna clean the carb and change the fuel lines and stuff hopefully that will help.

I have a v-spec what kind of temperature drop are we dealing with? what is your lsn setting? Does it only die when you try and go wide open from idle? Do you have an external fuel filter? Is it clean? It is very possible that the low speed needle is set to lean for the cooler weather and your engine isnt getting enough fuel at idle so when you slam the carb open its getting too much oxygen and not enough fuel to keep running.
