I'm still camera shopping yet. I found a cheap one on sale this week at Walgreen's that doesn't look too bad for the price. The bigger outfits like Wally-world and Meijer's really don't have much right now on sale.

I drove by the park last week but the gates were closed. I wanted to go in to see how the weed growth was. I can move the buoys around to a location where we shouldn't be affected by the weeds or lily pads but still be in the same area and parking lot.

[8D] It's starting to look more and more like a full functioning RC everyday!!!

O, and I would think that the lillies would be pretty calm right now. The lillies in the private lake where I work are still non-existant.

What we need to do the day before the run is have ron out there in a row boat with a rake getting the weeds out from inside the race course I hung my TC31 up more than a few times last years fun run [:'(]

I've heard talk that someone might bring along a real boat for retrieval duties which in fine with me as I'll be able to load more stuff in whatever I drive to the lake.

that would be nice. I am going to have to build a small gopher boat sometime. I was thinking the Dualy's setup from the Traxxas Villain line of boats would provide plenty of tourqe for the job.

Bump.

I was thinking of getting a miss vegas as my only nitro boat. I miss having a nitro boat. I was thinking I would maybe do a bench breakin and then ron, mark and jul can have fun seeing if they can keep it running God I hate nitro boats....I want one, but I am scared of wasting more money.

We looked seriously at a Miss Vegas Saturday at the Toledo show and one might be in our future but right now I've got the Super-Vee 27 Nitro that I'm prepping to hit the water later in the week. Yes, that will be at the Fun Run and I'll let some of you drive it if you want to.
I think that you'd find the smaller boats easier to run as they seem to be more forgiving in a lot of ways. If you don't go crazy with the nitro it should be an easy boat to tune.

Thats great ron. I have a STOCK electric SV27 that I run on nice ib3800 cells. It will be a nice head to head match up. We'll have to have eric take a vid while we race them. So what engine you got in that ron?

It's the Aquacraft .18 that comes with them, the same as what's in the Miss Vegas. Mike did have one at Toledo over where the OS engines were with of course it being upgraded to their .18 . I took pix of it but they turned out fuzzy.

As an update, Steve shipped out the door prize yesterday, the Aeromarine Mean Machine .18 . He asked that I get it fired up and test run it before some person wins it. It should be arriving in the next day or two so when it does, I'll post a shot of it. I've got some props ordered and if I think that it needs another, I'll put one of those on. I thought that it was missing an engine but he told me that it is ready to rock.

Yup, just show up and we'll have a drawing. put your name on a piece of paper and drop it in whatever I have, a coffee can or box and we'll draw a name out around 1:30 PM. Wade Swatzell wanted me to wait for him and his sons to show up as they have soccer games to go to before he can make the drive down from Cedar Springs. If he doesn't show up by then, he's outta luck as I would like the winner to get some time on the water with it.
You haven't met him yet as last year he had family commitments and couldn't show up. He'll be bringing at least his .12 'rigger and his wifes John Finch Wild Thing.
We've got more people now coming in from around Chicago and at least one from Indy plus those from across the state.
I'm just hoping for good weather. The past few weekends here have been really nice.

Ron,

For a camera, dump the bucks into a nice one. I picked up a Canon Rebel EOS early this year. Best purchase I ever made. Sweet action shots are not a problem anymore. 40m-300m zoom allows some nice close up shots from a distance!

Don't forget, looks like we got some cheeseheads coming over this year also. [X(] There goes the fun [:'(]

Chris,

Ex-nitro boaters not allowed in the drawing

Chris is thinking of coming back over to the Dark Side.
I already bought another camera so I might have 3 there. If Greg Sheckler shows up he'll probably have his D-70 with him and that takes fantastic shots!
Walt Radzinski is going to throw in a gallon of fuel to go along with the MM 18 to help get the new owner started. He's also gringing along another retrieve boat.
BTW, the Fun Run is all Mark's fault! Five years ago he just wanted to run with a few guys while on a trip up to Grand Rapids. I can't believe how big this has turned out to be!

Ron, i doubt i'll bring it coz i got rid of LIPO batt, it keeps ballooning in me, got scared will cause fire in my apartment, so i send it back and never mess it again...but i have a boogey board airboat to run, it's fun to drive.
