there is lots of different fuels out there. 1. i would see what your local hobby shop carries. availibity is important. 2. are u racing or are you bashing.3 read your owners manual. read the manufavtors recomendation... i race, i use byrons 25%. it has great power and has a good oil content to protect my engine.... other ones i race with have used cold fusion fuel and has had problems with the engine wearing out quick.. when choosing a fuel look at the oil % you want 12% plus or minis 1 . ive heard o'donnels is also a great fuel. ive used nothing but byrons in my force 28 and i run 4 gallons through it and it is still running great. my race engine is a mach 2 .21 on my 2nd gallon on it no issues. so i think im using the right fuel for what i am doing with it. but i would go with what is availible in your area. for bashing i woud just get the 20% nitro. i might try 30%next year.

The two most popular brands used are Bryons and Odonniels. I wouldn't recommend going with what the manual of the vehicle suggests. The reason I say this is because if that company has a fuel then thats what there going to recommend so say you have Traxxas there going to recommend Traxxas fuel and a quick google search or search on here will tell you thats not a good idea.

I use Byrons orginal 20% nitro and 12% oil I'm just getting back in the hobby after 2 years and thats what I had left over from before. My LHS doesn't carry Byrons mainly just Traxxas top fuel so when I got my last supply I drove 45 mins one way. You can also order it by the case from some sites but theres a hazmat charge I might be doing that next time depending on how must that LHS is selling it for now.

I currently use Byron's 20% Gen2 that has 16% oil castor/syn. It's what i used to break in my 3.5 and 4.5 engines. It has alot of oil content but in the south with 100+ degree heat it's well worth it. I currently don't race so it's a good bashing fuel for me.

If you plan on running in cold weather then you should use hot plugs. they will help get your engine started and keep it running. as far as fuel i wouldnt run anything less than 20% and nothing more than 25% to bash. if you have issues with your engine stalling during cold weather you might want to lean abit. It will help keep engine temps up.

just got back from the LHS and they suggested the Odonniels 20% so i got a quart for now, he said after the first quart that i could go with something higher like the 25%.

you say that you know someone that ran cold fusion fuel and had a problem with an engine wearing out. i am curious as to who that is. i would like to get some more info on this "quick wear out". what kind of engine? what type of fuel? what is the owners tuning experience? i am not asking to bash anyone, merely to find out all the facts.the reason i am interested is that i have done quite a bit of research into cold fusion fuel and i was so impressed that i have agreed to become a distributor for their products. cold fusion uses only the best indegredients available.and all fuels are blended to order to insure the best quality reaching the end user.there are many blends available from rtr blends for the inexperienced tuner to race blends for the seasoned tuners with many many blends in between. if an end user was using the race blend 30% nitro with 9% oil it will absolutely scream however it does not leave much room for error when tuning. cold fusion has been shown to give snappier throttle response, slightly longer run times,as well as cooler head temps. than other comporable fuels, and often is cheaper .for more info on what is available check out www.coldfusionrcproducts.com
thank you
