I currently own a single 1/18 scale rc car and it's not bad but I hate 1/18scale. I'm looking for a bigger off-road car that's can handle a beating and consistently do that. Around 1/10 scale or bigger. I would like to be able to go on dirt roads, grass, lot's of jumps, and in the woods without breaking. Basically just rough terrain and big jumps. Don't care if it's 2wd or 4wd, but would like to stay around 200-250

HPI Wheely King IMO
1/12th scale, but in actuality its about the same size as a 1/10th scale Traxxas stampede.
Pretty much the only way to break the sucker on stock power is drive it off a sheer cliff as its plastic is VERY flexible, and it has giant ass tires to absorb most impacts.
I will only say you will not get big jumps as it only goes around 15mph, and you really can't upgrade its motor to brushless(what you need for big jumps) as its transmission can't handle it(well without a pile of modifications)
But in that price range you pretty much won't get anything that can do everything you want.
Breakdown
dirt roads 2wd, or 4wd will be fine, and any scale Tires more make the difference here
grass IMO 4wd, but 2wd can do it if its very well maintained, and the grass is short. Vehicle type depends on scale. 1/12, and 1/10th MT's work best, 1/8th truggies, buggies, and MT's have no real issue due to their weight(1/8th is way out of your budget)
jumps basically any, but it has to be fast
Woods Trail truck, scaler, crawler, or a slower solid axle MT will deal best.

Monster truck sounds like a good option for what you want. I suggest the ECX Ruckus for what you want. I assume you want a charger and battery in the $200-250 budget as well.

WIth your stated budget of 200 - 250 I think you should look at a gently used 1/10 or 1/8 SCT, buggy or truggy. Some of the more durable brands are out of the price you've mention but deals can be found on the forums in the used vehicle section. I know lots of people love Traxxas for bashing but honestly they are not as durable right out of the box as brands like Tekno, Mugen, HPI and even Associated. Also if you are just mostly bashing I would definately go with four wheel drive.
Whatever you choose, have fun and good luck!

The HPI E Firestorm has been around awhile. Same with the Blitz. Great stadium trucks and SC trucks. I know I sure would like to have one if I didn't have my other ST/SC trucks to maintain.
Latest test subject: Theibault's HPI E Firestorm Flux Thread
Lots of threads out there on this platform.
And you said about "going in the woods". Definitely something 4wd should be top priority though when trail running. Just saying.

Having driven the Blitz and the SC10 I would say the Blitz is a more durable basher, The SC10 is great for racing but it's a bit of a princess. It performs wellbut needs too be cared for.

HaHa. I like that "princess" post.
It all comes down to the terminology of "bashing" and plastics. If I walk out my back door, and there is no track to run on: Am I considered a "basher"? How high you want to send something into the air; watching it fall to Earth ungracefully as it lawn darts/cases something solid...how flexible the plastic is, will generally determine the end result.
Maybe somebody should start a thread: "You're A Basher If..."

Think I did 15-20 jumps in which all but 3 would be considered bad landings, and broke nothing
I will say after that bashing run I did destroy my nitro savages chrome tuned pipe though as it looked more like aluminum can that was run over by a car
Thing did get more airtime then when I tried a RC plane, and a rc helicopter

They IMO are one of the toughest RC's made (well as of a few years back as mine are a bit old I heard some of the newer ones are a bit weaker plastic wise), but they also cost a fairly decent price.
