Hey nick! working at a metal shop as a welder/metalworker. make alot of special stuff in steel, stainless and aluminum. Im making aluminum a-arms for the smartech now, getting them cut out from 8mm aluminum with water! and my smartech parks my revo 3.3. the revo is more durable though.

you Just missed out on a set I sold on e-bay, they were cnc machined out of alumnium. shipping on those wouldnt cost all that much from norway, I wouldnt think, may take a bit of time, and it wouldnt be to hard to cut a few of them when you got the waterjet setup. we send out alot of parts to get waterjet at our shop, do you guys have a waterjet at the shop weiner?

Im making 10 sets of a arms and will polish them shiiiny. we have a waterjet and a laser at my work, In my opinion the waterjet cuts nicer. both are very accurate so thats no prob. I sent the .15 smt engine to usa and think it was 15$ shipping. was thinking of selling a couple of sets on ebay just to cover the aluminum expences. If anyone in here are interested in a set and are willing to pay for shipping just let me know! They arent finished yet so be patient Theyre still in the autocad drawing program at work..

i only made the actual head, not the cooling head. if you still want to see it i will post a pic. it isn't very interesting. i just turned it on a manual lathe. i turned the 45 degree combustion chamber with the compound, then drilled, and tapped for the glow plug. i made a new one because i striped the threads on the old one. i think next i will make a higher combustion one for better performance. mine came out perfect. there were very tight tolerances. it is 6061 aluminum.

Sweet, , Sweet, Sweet

Love the pics where did you get the modified front shockie support ?

The lack of proper working shocks was the first thing that I noticed when removing mine from it's box.

And I too would like to get one like you show in your pics.

thanks, Dennis

the shock towers are from a speedy tiger 2, ordered them from sicorpusa along with 40177 cvd drive shafts. the air filter and shocks came from rcmart and they are excellent! I used 70mm shocks for the front and 80 mm rear. I met a guy at a parking lot today when i was out to fine tune it with the new filter. he went home to get his car so i got to test my car against a stock winner sport
there wasnt really any competition

first time I broke mine I t-boned a curb so hard the tank came off but the bottom of the tank stayed on the car, 2nd time I was running pretty hard without my body on, and going around a corner in the inside of a tree. It flipped up on 2 wheels, and hit right on the side of the tank. this wasnt on a smartech, but I found a tank close to the same size and had to drill new mounting holes.

nothing wrong with the tanks really, its the upper chassis plate thats usually the problem. it moves backwards when the chassis bends a little while jumping and stuff. there should have been a metal brace or something that kept the upper chassis in place. but when driving without the body your begging for it I didnt have the body on today when the tank went to smt heaven...
