buggy's are typically designed for racing. they are low to the ground and stable for rocketing through turns. they can take some jumps but typically not huge jumps. Monster trucks have a high center of gravity and are designed to take a TON of abuse. BIG JUMPS and wheelies are possible with a monster truck. Monster trucks also race but the high center of gravity limits how fast they can make it through corners. Of course you can set up a buggy for bashing and a monster truck for racing, but in general that's the big differences.

not necessarily. for a really small track 1/10 might be better. bigger track 1/8 is better. but the 1/8 will have the bigger motor so that might be more fun in general.

thats the exact answer i was looking for, thanks!
edit: would you say 1/8 scale buggies are more fun than 1/10?

well the smartech buggies run .15 or .18 cubic inch engines, most 1/8 buggies run .21 - .28 cubic inch engines, however, they do make .30 cubic inch engines that will fit and put out almost 4 HORSEPOWER!!!! FIRE IT UP!!!!!!!

ooooh, ooooh, forgot to ask... Yesterday I had an awesome time bashing around my winnerpro, nothing broke. hehe, except half of my antenna got ripped off somewhere and i couldn’t find it.. Would you say a similar gage wire would work? If yes how long is the original antenna supposed to be?

Back to the question of what scale is more fun 1/8 or 1/10. I have a 1/8 buggy, and that thing flys and it way out handles the 1\10 scale. I would never go back to a 1\10 buggy now, as far as small tracks go I find the 1\8 buggy handles so good that it is great on any track I also love having 2.75 horses backing me up
. I also prefer a 1\10 stadium truck over the buggy because they are just as wide as they are long and very close to the ground, so they handle very well. when I had 4x4 working in my smartech it also handled very well, just wasnt the same in 2wd.

I replaced mine with just a piece of wire that looked to be close to the same gage, I dont think it really matters, mine is actully a bit heaver gage but it works great. I left a bit of the bare wire exposed on the top, thinking it may work better. It seems to me to work better then stock but that could be a coinsidence.

I think this may have been covered in the past but Ill ask it anyway. I have a bunch of 9.6 volt batteries. If i was to re wire my controller would this work? I know it would be a lower voltage but would that make a difference?

contoller as if Tx or Rx? If Tx it would most likely work but if Rx i wouldnt recommend it. I hear 9V batts work but i wouldnt try 9.6, thats just pushing the limit

no because i am pretty sure a 9.6 will to out at around 10.7 volts, since thats what mt transmitter for my airplanes top out at with the 9.6. but the 9volts top out at 9 volts.

I am talking about the tx, if I use 8 aa batteries at 1.5 volts it would be around 12 volts. if the 9.6 battery peaks at 10.7 wouldnt this be close enough? I use a hump pack for the rx, I am just looking to get a better setup for the tx, I just dont want to fry anything doing this. Are you saying people use a 9 volt on the rx? wouldnt that be a bit much?

I may have to give that a try, I only have 1 hump pack, and it is a pain switching back and forth between vehicles. how long have you had it set up, and no problems yet?

I think I will give it a try, I have 6 batteries and a 15 min charger with nothing to put them in. I will keep you posted how it works. and also with the batery tray taken out of the tx, it will fit perfactly.
