Hi guys newbie here. got a winner sport about 2 years ago but have not run it for about a year, went to start it the other day and to my suprise it fired up straight away, but the died after about 2mins. i started to muck about with both the high end and low end needles and think i have really messed up now as it wont even idle very long, does anyone know how to put it back to the factory settings so i can start again, also do you have to mess around with the low end needle as much as the high end one, all help will be appreciated, also it has a new glow plug in it.

HSN - 2.5 turns out.
LSN - flush with brass about 2 turns out.
Idle - 1 mm barrel opening.

idle screw is directly under the air filter, low speed needle is connected the servo linkage.

I've had my Smartech Speed Master VH-X5 for a few weeks now and the acceleration still sucks -.- . I had a leak where the exhaust joins the motor and just replaced the gasket expecting a dramatic increase in performance, but still nothing. My friends one just takes off and mine has much slower acceleration. Any ideas?

~Thanks

Ohh, and his makes a much more high pitched sound while mine sounds like i'm barely accelerating (Even though the intake is completely open ~_~). Same result without Air filter.

Is it tuned correctly? Sounds like one or both needles is too rich.

Where's the other Needle? I only know of the one next to the air filter, and the idle one.

ORIGINAL: (X)

lol my smartech buggy was my first nitro RC, I got it when I was about 10.. And my dad knew nothing about them either..

These are amazing for the price! Mine was Always either super rich or super LEAN, and I didn't break it in, WOT on my first tank for most of it..

Anyway, it lasted me about 2 YEARS!

It's broke now, it's completely screwed up.. but I think all I will need to fix it is some new electrics and a new engine
Hey, Lewis, I didnt know you had a Smartech! I though you were a Monster truck basher, Savages and stuff.

BTW, why did you change your name to X?

lift the wheels off the ground and pull the pull start. DO the wheels spin when you pull the pull start?

Just about any .15 size pull starter should fit. Take the old one to your LHS and try to match up the mounting holes with some they have. Just make sure you keep your one-way bearing or the new one has the same shaft size for the bearing. Good luck!

Well I have a few questions about the Smartech buggy as well. I also own the winner sport and Its not all that bad. Its a great project car. Thats the reason I got into the hobby anyway. I would rather build it up myself rather then buy one for 500 or more $

Anyway my question is, Will I be able 2 fit the O.S. .18TM in the car and what other things should I change about the car? I am already looking 2 buy better shocks. Also should I change the clutch, flywheel. and clutch shoe or anything else. What is a good failsafe that will fit in the car? I am also just learnig. I know a lot about cars so I look at rc cars in that aspect just on a smaller scale.

CAN NE 1 HELP????????? THANKS.
